"Then how'd you know I went by Fc?"

Aphmaus POV
Shiiiiiit... how am I supposed to answer that?! I can't just be like "well I've known you since middle school but we met in person in high school and I found out you were Fc and I was Shu. And we dated and got engaged but you lost your memory when I became an angel and fought a demon who possessed our friend" Ugh what do I do?

"Oh... umm well..."

Aaron's face looks confused "because the only person who knows me by that name is- Shu..." Aaron quickly pulls out his phone and texts a contact labeled Shu and my phone buzzes in my purse.

He looks at me/where the buzzing noise came from and I look back at him not sure what do in this situation.

"Are you going to get that?" He asks clutching his phone in his hands.

"Y-Yeah..." I take out my phone and gasp at what the text says.

I contemplate my choices on how to respond deciding to just tell him now as to not ruin our relationship in the future. "Aaron... I-" I start but hold back taking a breath. "I-" I go to speak but nothing comes out. "I- need to go." I quickly stand up leaving him outside in the setting sun.

I quickly run inside trying to avoid everyone on the brink of tears. Through the midst of gathering my things I accidentally run into Garroth. "Aphmau! Hey! It's great to see you! I feel like we haven't spoken all night." I look down and nodding and making an incoherent high pitch "mmhmm" noise. "Aphmau... are you feeling alright?" I take a breath and manage to choke out "Yep! I-I'm good!" I'm not even fully sure why I'm crying right now...

"You don't seem good... here, want to talk?" Garroth pulls me aside and we sit on a couch in the sitting room.
He sat me down and got me a napkin "So...What's going on?"

I blow my nose and clear my head as I tell him what happened outside with Aaron.
"I see... that sounds like a tough situation. You did what was best for you in that situation considering how you described it."

I swallow the lump in my throat thinking of what I could say to fix things with Aaron. "I thought that all the stupid drama back at starlight! Honestly, I messed up bad.... it was naive of me to think everything would be magically fixed once we got back. The world kept moving without me and I'm still stuck in my own head."

Garroth looked at me surprised almost "Aphmau, you have the right to still be stuck in your own mind space. You endured major trauma, and you and travis went through irene knows what with the guardian forces' tests. You just need time, and no one can deny you of that." I smile and thank him feeling as if I were back in high school talking to Garroth about a boy or something like I used to.

By now everyone was leaving the party and I was trying desperately to avoid Aaron. I thanked Melissa and Lucinda for their hospitality as I took some of Kawaii~Chan's cookies and left. I walked towards my home and as I reached the door, I realized something. This was going to be the first night I spend in this house after starlight, and I'd be spending it alone.
