Chapter Five

Harry's POV

"L.A! Let's make some noise!" I shout into the microphone. There are tons of celebrities and fans at this private concert.

I just hoped Adelaine doesn't suspect anything.

"We're going to do a little concert for you guys tonight." Zayn says to the crowd and they cheer loudly; which causes Niall to laugh.
"You don't understand, you don't understand, what'd you do to me when you hold his hand." I begin to sing, and that's when I spot my sister and the girl I love singing along and smiling up at me.

Adelaine looked so beautiful. I had no idea she even knew the words to any of our songs. I'll have to bug her about that later. Her hair was slightly wavy along with my sister's, but I can sit here checking out my sister. That's weird.

I had the courage to wink at Adelaine, praying that the management didn't see. I can't believe I'm actually following along with their plan."Harry! Harry!" I hear a faint voice call me.

"What?"

"Sing!" Louis shouted right before doing his solo.

I was too caught up on thinking of Adelaine that I missed my solo and chorus. This is exactly what management was afraid of.

The end of the song came up, "So baby be with me so happily." That was bit of the song and I looked back at the boys who were shaking their heads.

They can't be mad at me, it's not like they never missed their solos.

I just got too distracted by Adelaine and I did the rest of the show as well; I kept forgetting the lyrics. Zayn and Liam covered up for me. Louis and Niall just kept eyeing Adelaine and I.

Adelaine gave me a thumbs up which made me feel a bit better.

God, I'm such a dork for her.

"You can't let that happen again." Zayn said sternly. "You're the one that covered up for me, you ass!" I defend.
"Yeah, I'd do it again, but we don't get paid as much as you do!" He gets in my face.

"You guys forget your solos as well!" I shake my head.

"Not because we're distracted by some girl!" Niall snapped. Niall must have some real balls to come at me like that.

"Look at you guys! She's causing you to argue!" Paul came in.
Liam just stayed quiet.
"We've actually been talking about this with the management. We all think..." He didn't continue.

I knew where this was going and I didn't like it.

"We want you to do what you did the past year. We don't want you to talk to -" I cut Louis off.

"If you think I'm going to block out my entire family after I just got them back, then you're insane!" I shout."No. Just Adelaine." Liam says sternly.
"What?"
"Let her down easy." Zayn pats my back and the boys follow him out of the dressing room.

Adelaine's POV

After watching the Ariana Grande perform, security guided Gemma and I backstage.
I needed a talk with Harry.
I was searching through the halls backstage. I found Harry's. I was about to walk in to his dressing room when Niall stopped me.

"Adelaine! Want to see who's the best at FIFA?" He hesitated. "Sure. Let me just talk to Harry real quick." I laughed and put my hand on the door handle. I could hear talking in the room but not loud enough for me to understand it.

"No! He's tired and really grumpy!" He spoke quickly. "Okay? It's unlikely that Harry would ever be tired after a concert." I laughed without removing my hand from the door handle.

"Come on," He ushered me out of the hall. I looked back at Harry's dressing room and see Luke directing Kendall Jenner into Harry's dressing room.

So she can talk to him but I can't?

I was bored the whole hour Niall and I played FIFA in his dressing room. He beat me so many times because my mind was focusing on Harry.

"Okay, okay, we get it. You win." I laughed after Niall's conceited compliments to himself.
"I shall be crowned the FIFA king!" He pops his chest out.

"But I'm the FIFA queen!"

"So we're married?" He winks at me.

"Sorry, but after tonight, Harry and I will be back together." I say proudly and Liam coughed awkwardly behind me.

The dressing room door opened and revealed all 5 Seconds of Summer boys, Louis, Zayn, and Gemma.
"Oh, he's in the bathroom. He said he's catch up later." Louis mumbled without looking at me.

All the boys, even Gemma; were being as quiet as possible. None of them were talking and they were shifting uncomfortably.

After an awkward 30 minutes. Harry walks in the quiet dressing room. Everyone was staring at him. What the hell is going on?

There was an awkward silence. I decided to dismiss it.
"Hi." I smile at Harry, but he didn't return the gesture.

Well okay then.

Harry locked eyes with Zayn and then spoke, "Adelaine, we need to talk."

I felt all eyes in the room on me. Everyone gave me that sorry-pity look.

"Yeah?" I was expecting for him to tell me in front of everyone.
"I guess I have to follow him." I slightly chuckle to ease the tension in the room. I failed miserably because no one laughed.

I followed him into the empty hallway. When he closed the door to Niall's dressing room I got extremely nervous.

"We can sit on the floor." He says gesturing for me to sit down.

"I don't really want to." I shake my head and he nodded.
"Adelaine..."
"Just say what you need to say Harry! You're freaking me out!" I let my stress out.

"I can't talk to you anymore."

I felt the blood and color drain from my face.

"What?"

"I don't think we should be around each other anymore." He repeated the terrible words that just caused me pain.
I was more angry than sad. None of this made any sense. We were just okay two days ago.

"What? We were just okay a couple of hours ago!" I defend.

"Yeah, well a lot can happen in a couple of hours," He looked down and mumbled.

"I need to work on my career." He spoke more clearly.

"Is it that or is it your new girlfriend?" I ask before walking away from him. Goal: 90 Likes
