Miraculous Hood

Prologue

[Adrien POV]

I looked at the town of Paris from the Miraculous Forest.

Everyone was happy.

Except me...

My mother died of an unknown illness a year ago and my father became a distant memory.

I recently ran away to escape from my awful life and have lived in the Miraculous Forest for a few months.

Who knew that a little boy would have such a terrible life that he ran away into the dark woods alone?

Suddenly, something ran into my back and we fell to the ground.

I groaned as pushed whatever it was off of me.

"I'm so sorry, dude!!! I wasn't looking where I was going!!!"

I looked up to see a boy my age looking at me, concern in his eyes.

He had brown skin, short dark brown hair, and kind amber eyes.

He wore a ragged blue shirt, worn-out brown pants, dirty black boots, black glasses, a red cap, and a bow and arrows on his back.

He held out his hand.

"I'm Nino! What's your name, dude?" he asked me.

I glanced at his hand and took it. Nino pulled me up.

"I'm Adrien!" I told him. "What are you doing out here, anyway?"

Nino kicked a rock.

"My pops got sick with this unknown illness, so I have to feed my mom..." he told me.

I felt bad for Nino and also admired his dedication to his family.

He looked like he needed some help, judging by his downcast look.

I smiled at him.

"Well, I could help you!!" I offered. Nino looked at me with wide eyes.

"You don't have to do that, dude!! Besides, you should probably go back to your family!!"

I looked down with sad eyes.

"I don't have a family anymore..."

Nino gasped.

"Well, you could stay with me and my family," Nino offered.

I grinned at him.

"That would be great!!" I exclaimed.

"Come on, dude!! I'll teach you how to hunt, fight, cook, clean, and treat injuries and illnesses!!!" Nino told me excitedly as he led me deeper into the Miraculous Forest.

This is the start of an interesting friendship!
