"Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond the illusion
I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high
Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man"

Julian POVIt was raining, heavy and hard. The rain fell against the car windows, as Dad kept driving. The skies were overhung with a blanket of grey and blue, so much so that I could barely tell the difference between the sky and clouds. It was so cold and dark. Amelia sat in my arms wailing, her cries louder than the storm. My dad kept looking at he backseat yelling at us to be quiet as my mum shrieked at him to keep his eyes on the road. It was too loud.
"This is all your fault, Catherine. Why did you let him go?" My dad yelled, his hands clenched the wheel.
My mum cried even harder. Her arms wrapping around her self, trying to block dad's yelling.
"Mommy." Amelia wailed.
"Shut her up, Julian!" He yells as we near the hospital. His hair was unkempt, falling into his eyes.
What's going on? Where is Jason?
We need Jason. Only he could calm down dads anger.
The rain pelted onto Amelia and I as Mum and Dad ran into the hospital. She kept crying, I tried to calm her down but she kept calling for Mum. I walked into the emergency ward with Amelia on my hip, searching for my parents.
"Where is he? Where is my son? Jason!" Dad shrieked.
A sick, heavy feeling erupted in my throat.
"Jason!" Mom wailed, falling onto the floor.
The sound was so guttural and raw that it made my eyes bleed.
Two doctors scurried over, one holding onto my wailing mum and the other talking to my dad.
"Your son is in surgery, we'll know how he is wh—"
" Surgery! What...what do you mean, surgery?" Dad growled.
"Sir, I know this can be hard but—"
"You said it was a car collision..that means broken arms or legs..not surgery. Why is my son in surgery?" He roared.
The doctor swallowed hard, he gaze switching to me and Amelia's scared faces.
"How about you come in the waiting room?"
He looks at the other nurse who guides my frail mum into the waiting room. My dad follows, his head hanging low. The other nurse comes towards Amelia and I, he takes her from my shaking arms and into his.
"Hey, what your name?" He coos.
"A-amelia," she blubbers.
"So who's your favourite princess, Amelia?"
He walks away, talking with Amelia. At least she wasn't crying anymore.
