Chapter 10 - Trust again?

You  felt a hand placed on yours and arms soon wrapped around you, pulling you into an embrace, you then felt your shoulder getting wet as you felt the pain that he been holding in. You held him closely and cried softly on his shoulder, begging for forgiveness and being sorry for the pain he was in. "Shika-san.. I'm so sorry.. I'm so so sorry for hurting you and everyone..." You cried out

After a few days returning to the village, The 5th Tsunade has you watched at all times until they feel like you can be trusted once again. You were now being discharged from the hospital, and on your way outside you seen Shikamaru, along with his teammates Ino Yamanaka and Choji Akimichi. The day Shikamaru came to see you in the hospital, he promised to take you out to get something to eat. You were glad that you agreed since later on that day, you found out that you were going to be limited to do things around the village and you definitely wasn't allowed to be alone. To finally be with your friends again felt like a dream to you, but it made you feel like the happiest girl in the world.

The four of you made y'all way into their, or more like Choji's favorite BBQ place. You sat beside Shikamaru since you felt more comfortable that way as you wanted to catch up on the months you missed after betraying the village. You felt so guilty and the thought of it made your stomach tighten and your heart ache. Tears unwelcomely made it's way out of your eyes and slowly made its way down your cheek. Your actions left you broken and suck with regret. Shikamaru took notice of your little quiet breakdown and placed a hand on your shoulder in concern of his best friend. Without hesitation he grabbed your hand and pulled you outside to get some fresh air. When y'all step foot outside, he started to become more playful.

"Say (Y/N), Why did the chicken cross the road?" Shikamaru looked down at you with a big smile as if he was gonna laugh extremely hard. "To get to the beautiful girl's house"  You looked so confused as you slowly started to wipe your tears away. "(Y/N), Knock Knock" Shikamaru calm down his urge to laugh and just gave you a warm sweet smile so you decided to answer his joke "Who's..there?" You soon felt and hand on top of your head and was pulled into a warm embrace. "the chicken.. who finally found the beautiful girl."  You laughed how cringe the joke was but was happy that it actually cheered you up like Shikamaru planned on doing. After he noticed that he succeeded, he sighed in relief and rubbed your head "Smile more often (Y/N). Look is going to be hard from here and in the near future so never give up. Don't give up on me and I won't give up on you, we're best friends after all." After talking, you both headed back into the building to finish the BBQ.
