Chapter 3

Here I go. I briskly walk to the chair next to him and sit down. I feel eyes on me. I glance over to find those green eyes right into mine. I quickly look away. I'm so weird.

"Excuse me, but I think you dropped something very important." He says. His accent was thick British.

I turn towards him and see a huge dimpled smile on his face and my ticket in his hand. Wow, good move Violet.

"Oh.. Uhm.. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to drop it on you.." I say like a shy child.

"I'm glad you dropped it on me." He says still smiling.

"Why is that?"

"Because I would've been extremely bored and probably pass out if I didn't have a conversation with someone.. I'm Harry by the way."

"Nice to meet you Harry." I say giving him a small grin.

"Well I told you my extremely interesting name.. So what's yours?" He says with a small chuckle.

I mentally slap myself. "I'm sorry, I'm Violet."

His eyes light up.

"That is my mothers favourite flower. That's a pretty special name."

I blush. "Why thank you, I was named Violet because of the smell. It's the scent of the candle that burned when I was.. Umm.. made I guess." Now I'm embarrassed. And stupid. And awkward.

He bursts into laughter. Then I start laughing a little too.

"So your telling me that your parents named you after their sex candle?" He laughs again.

"No, after their love candle," I try to make my name seem a little more decent. Even though he was very attractive and likeable, I didn't like how he made my name sound so terrible. I look down at my feet and shuffle them around feeling embarrassed and disappointed.

"I'm so so so sorry," he blurts. "Everything about your name is beautiful, I guess I just tried to have a little laugh without considering your feelings."

That was more like it. Disappointment is definitely gone.

"It's fine," I simply say with little emotion and give him a small reassuring smile.

"Flight 1987 gate E24 is starting to board," the flight desk attendant announced.

"Hey, ready for the flight?" He whispers.

"Actually I'm super nervous."

"Don't worry if something happens I'll be there to save the world," he laughs.

He is so cute.
