JEONGHAN'S

Sitting boringly at my English class, as we had no practice today, not wanting to glance at his presence.

I hated him from the very first day since he steals all the love and attention, but after what had happened yesterday makes me feel even more irritated with every part of his body.

Cutting off my thoughts, Mr. Chwen entered with a smile on his face.

"Guys I thought you might be stressing too much on the play, you might not be having much fun in my class anymore!"

Though the class didn't respond we all know what our teacher said was a fact.

"Let's cool down for a while, so I decided we can have a bit of fun!"

Everyone's face lit up in excitement and anticipation. He continued "Let's have a debate! No rules! Just a logical debate!" he said and we cheered.

Having a debate is what I'm good at, debate are fun actually, what made it hard are the rules, to be formal, to state facts only, but now that we were given permission to have fun, why not have fun.

"Since there are too many of you! I'm going to divide it in 4 groups!"

****

Random groupings were then given and now i am at group 1, debate is fun, but Seungcheol belonging in group 2, who happens to be my opposing team, makes it even more exciting.

We bicker in class over recitations, contrasting each other's opinions all the time, so Mr. Chwen should be used to it by now, it's a huge mistake putting us on different groups, not just different groups, opposing groups.

Being the good debater that I am, my classmates put me in front, 2 group of chairs facing each other as we did disarrange the seats a while ago.

He happened to be the leader of his team too, glancing at my teacher, who looked like he knew he fucked up, gulping and breaking cold sweat.

I chuckled as he composed himself and gave the topic.

"The topic is. Is it okay for children to go home late having fun with friends, or go home early, and help chores at home with your family instead...

See this is not a serious topic, since I told you guys, this is for fun only! So I hope you don't take it seriously, it that understood Mr. Yoon and Mr. Choi? "

We looked at the teacher and nodded.

Of course, it's understood Mr. Chwen, but the thing is, I am Yoon Jeonghan, and I do things my way,

I mumbled to myself, staring at  Seungcheol.

"group 1 would agree that it is okay for children to go home late, and group 2 will defend the second option"

He gave the cue to start and I started.

"I, do agree that it is acceptable for children to go home late, we wanted to have fun with friends, have the time of our lives, after all, we are young"

"I beg to disagree Jeonghan, because youth has limitations too, going out with friends is okay, but when it's time for responsibilities like house chores, then you should do your responsibility"

"Well not all of us has to do those responsibilities Seungcheol, some of us don't have to go home cooking and cleaning, and helping your parents, most of us have an easier way of living....

Unlike you, I guess"

Tons of cheers were heard from all around the room, and Seungcheol looked kind of offended, but this is fun right?

Things were getting heated, it was heated that the following statement we say aren't even related to the topic anymore, instead, we attack each other's weaknesses.

"Well lucky for you Jeonghan, I and my family has to work hard to earn a living, but, as you can see, I was raised well and have manners unlike you, Who's born in a rich family, but acts as if he's above among all"

He said and I looked around embarrassed, looking at my classmates having faces of excitement as the moment was accelerating.

Just then, Mr. Chwen stopped us, after all, we were the only one speaking in our team, he gave the chance to others as we cool our head down.

***

Moments later, it was my turn to speak up again.

"What I'm saying is that, not all house is a happy home, tons of children go around with friends to escape a sad home"

"That's really not an excuse considering the fact that all of us have family, let's say you have maids at your house, that's family too, maybe you're just ungrateful for having them–"

You have no idea Seungcheol, just then, I snapped.

"That's easy for you to say! Because you, You have a happy family! You have a mom whenever you get home everyday while I go home to nothing! You recieve hugs while the loneliness embraces me!"

"So you have no rights to say that it is not a good excuse! Because the only love and attention I get is from my friends and from people around me!"

"and you! You have it all! You have wonderful parents! And now you even want more! You took all the love people gave to me!"

I was bewildered, I let all my feelings pour out all at once, all mixed emotions rushing out of my body.

I let it all out, that I didn't even realize that I was crying, I slowly calmed down, I knew I had softened my eyes upon realizing how much I shouted, I slowly held my cheek, and I really did cry.

Realizing the shit I brought myself into, I looked around, people having shocked faces, until my eyes landed on the Choi Seungcheol, my eyes were blurry, but what his eyes show is clear, it had a look of guilt, his eyes glistened with concern and realization.

Not wanting to see anyone anymore, I rushed out of the room, and ended up locking myself in the bathroom.

____

This book is not turning out well, but I hope you do understand that Jeonghan "hates" Seungcheol because he feels like Seungcheol takes the attention and love he recieves from the people around him, as his parents never gave him the love he wanted, the love he deserves.
