For those of who don't know, this book is actually a highly-requested sequal to my currently most popular book "Keep The Mask, It Goes With Your Costume" which can so easily be found on my profile. I ~highly~ reccomend checkin' that one out first if you've yet to read it, so just giving ya the warning now to avoid spoilers.

And to those of you who already read it, howdy guys nice to see you again! Thanks for reading my story, that really makes my day!

Okay so if you're still here that means either you have already read my last book or you don't wanna read it so ur kinda just skipping it and cheating the system (hah can't blame u). Anyway its been FOREVER since I actually finished releasing that last book so for the og readers out there that waited months for this book, (and for those who just skipped it), here a tiny lil breakdown of all that happened so you get all the right context for where this book starts and where the last one left off! Love you to the moon and back and again literally makes me so happy that you're reading my book right now, I don't deserve it. ANYWAY I'll stop talking now ah, happy reading lovelies!

Again, if you plan to read the first story and haven't yet, I really suggest doing it before reading this whole synopsis and spoiling it for youself :)

After getting attacked by Lila akumatized, Marinette's left earring gets cracked. Because of said crack, the miraculous won't let her transform again for a year after she takes it off. And the miraculous has a defense mechnaism for this so that saying "spots off" won't work, and the only way to get the costume off is by taking out her taking off the earrings herself. Which she can't do until hawkmoth is defeated or else there won't be a Ladybug to defeat akumas.

Because Marinette is now stuck as Ladybug, Marinette herself has "dissapeared" from Paris, and she can't tell anyone the truth without risking her identity. Cat Noir blames himself for her being lost since he had promised to come back for her after the fight with Lila. Becuase she can't stay with her parents without revealing herself, she asks Chloe if she can temporarily stay in La Grand Paris hotel to be secret. It doesn't last long and Marinette must leave shortly to conceal her identity and secrecy, she stays for a little while just roaming Paris and sleeping on the Eiffel tower.

Eventually, Marinette can't stand it anymore and she reveals to her parents that she is both Ladybug and Marinette so that she can live at home with them. Obviously, her parents are glad and stop searching for her as Marinette in the city, which makes Cat Noir mad, thinking he's the only one that cares about her. Since Ladybug knows that her and Cat Noir will not find Marinette, she doesn't want to keep pretending to look for her, and suggests to Cat Noir that they "give up" the search. Cat Noir gets annoyed and slightly angry at Ladybug since he feels like no one cares about Marinette anymore but him. Cat Noir then finds Alya who is also mad at Ladybug and everyone for quitting on Marinette, the two of them stage a video on the Ladyblog accusing Ladybug of always having been horrible and never a real superhero, in attempt to make Ladybug feel bad for wanting to quit, while also making all of Paris hate her.

Hawkmoth sees the video and realizes Cat Noir is mad at Ladybug, so he takes advantage of his weak emotional state and offers him a deal, if Cat Noir gives Ladybug to Hawkmoth, Hawkmoth will give him Marinette in return. Cat Noir goes through with the deal but obviously does not get Marinette back from Hawmoth.

After bringing Ladybug back to his lair and noticing her miraculous is broken, Hawkmoth connects the dots and finds out Ladybug's true idenitity, the one and only lost Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Hawkmoth conivinces Marinette that if she takes off her miraculous and gives it to him, he will fix it, make his wish, and let her go with the miraculous as well as his own, no harm done. Marinette agrees to consider the deal, and Hawkmoth leaves. While Gabriel is asleep, Nooroo takes off his miraculous to remove the invisible barrier, and phases through Marinette's chains to let her free. Marinette then walks up and sees Emilie Agreste in her coma. Realizing Hawkmoth is Gabriel and Emilie is his wish, Marinette feels horrible to not give both him and Adrien the chance to have a happy family again, but Nooroo convinces her that she can't give up her miraculous.

As Marinette prepares to escape and make her way home, she goes into Adrien's room to find him asleep with Plagg next to him, finding out Adrien's secret identity as Cat Noir.

Ladybug reports Gabriel to the police, but lies about his crimes so he won't have an extremely long sentance, and reveals to no one that he is Hawkmoth. Cat Noir tries to text Ladybug to apologize for everything he did, but Ladybug just briefly explains that she defeated Hawkmoth and doesn't want to be Ladybug anymore. With that she takes off her earrings to heal, and becomes Marinette once again.

But Cat Noir isn't ready to give her up, he publicly announces to having lied about Ladybug, and offers to throw her a party in celebration of Hawkmoths defeat, and in apology for all he did. Although everyone in Paris shows up, Ladybug didn't make it since she had already taken off the costume and couldn't become Ladybug.

After Cat Noir's heartbreak in being stood up by Ladybug at the party he threw for her, he is distraught, and it is made worse the next day when he goes to school as Adrien and everyone is angry at him since his father was arrested (although they don't know he was Hawkmoth, and think his crime was selling illegal material in his clothing, as Ladybug had told the police) . But his mood improves as Marinette reveals herself to be okay and shows up to school for this first time in months, greeting Adrien with a long, tight embrace. The entire school then throws a celebration for her return, and a happier one than the night before. Everyone is happy, and the story comes to a conclusion........
