“What have you done?” The headmaster bellowed, all eyes now turned to me as he stood over the lifeless body on the playground. My name is Melody Sharar, I am 15 years old and have the elements under my command, or they almost are.
“I, I,” I stuttered, I was going to prison for sure. They were going to lock me up forever. Tears ran down my face, I couldn’t breathe, I collapsed to my knees
“I, I,” I stuttered again and the headmaster walked towards me with large strides. He grabbed my arm and forced me up, I glanced at the charred body of Harold Jamian, he had bullied me since I was 11 but it didn’t make it any less hard to see him lying there, charred. Candle stood over him, her fiery tail swished. Candle is my fire familiar, she’s dangerous and almost uncontrollable, she can only be controlled by Droplet, my water familiar, I couldn’t bring him out in time to save Harold. I let myself be led off the playground as Candle disappeared in a flurry of smoke. I cast a quick glance at the necklace around my neck. A small gray flame charm lit up orange and stayed that way, Candle had returned to her dormant state.

The headmaster led me into his office and sat me down. I had never seen him so angry in my life.
“Ms Sharar do you realize the weight of what you have just done?” He said, his voice almost a whisper. I merely nodded, tears running down my face like streams of sadness.
“Ms Sharar,” He pushed
“Yes headmaster,” I said. “I didn’t mean to kill him.”

I sat inside the slide of the playground, playing with Candle when Harold walked up to me, Candle immediately bristled and I held out a glowing hand to stop her. “Hello Harold.” I said calmly, He smiled evilly
“What have you got there? One of your freak pets?” He teased “Hey there little freak.” He cooed to Candle reaching out a hand and shoving her into my arms, I caught her as she tried to jump at him
“Calm down Candle.” I said, trying to restrain her and reach for the blue water droplet on my necklace.
“What is the freak pet going to do? Is it going to infest me with it’s freaky flames?” He jeered, boping Candle on the top of her head, with an annoying smile. Just as I was about to touch the water droplet Candle leapt out of my grasp and tackled Harold, her fur was bristled up and before I could yell a warning to Harold, his charred body was falling down onto the bark of the playground. I scrambled out of the tunnel and down to his body. Some kids had run to get the headmaster as I backed away, there was nothing I could do now. He was dead.

I stared down at my knees as the headmaster made a call. I had a feeling he was calling the police, I knew he was calling the police. I wanted to reach for my necklace that was laying on the table, to call Aries, my air familiar, for support but I restrained myself. I could only do myself bad by grabbing that necklace again. The headmaster hung up the phone and turned to me.
“Ms Sharar listen to me very closely.” He said as I looked up “You are not going to prison. They are going to take you to an institute for children with abilities like yours. You will be safe there, they know you didn’t mean to hurt the boy but the police don’t understand that and they never will. I am the headmaster at the school you will be going to, it is called the Institute for the Protection and Training of Dangerous Individuals or the IPTDI. I can not reveal more in this room but I know you will be safe there, Have I made myself clear?” He finished. I nodded
“Yes sir.”
“Then go. Pack up your stuff and take your necklace. Do not let any of your familia out until the IPTDI has picked you up. Now go.” I stood up as he finished. I grabbed my necklace from the table and started to walk out.

Eyes followed me everywhere as I walked towards my dormitory. When I reached it I began to pack my stuff into the only backpack I owned, the backpack was a dark night speckled with stars and with the logos for the six elements embroidered onto it. In first went my favorite outfit, a sky blue t-shirt with white marbled into it, kind of like a tie dye, and a pair of greenish shorts. Next went the other clothes I own and the box I keep my necklace in. I stood up, zipped up the bag and hauled it over my shoulder. I took a moment to breathe before I opened the door and walked outside. Everybody glared at me but I tried to ignore it. When I reached the gate I sat down and waited.
