-Marinette

A silence settles over us four.

Then they start laughing.

I tilt my head, confused.

They stop laughing and exchange amused glances.

"Great joke, Mari," Nino says.

"No, I wasn't joking. I was serious," I reply.

They all stare at me.

"Are you positive you're not someone pretending to be Marinette Dupain-Cheng?" Alya points at me accusingly.

"Yes, I swear!" I put my hands up in defense.

"Well, you and I are going to the Infirmary to call your mother," Alya grabs my hand and marches to the Infirmary, dragging me behind.

I sigh.

"There's no getting out of this, is there?" I ask.

"Nope!" Alya replies.

I sigh.

When Alya does something, she doesn't stop until it's done.

When we reach the Infirmary, Alya orders me to sit, which I do.

She then calls my mom.

About five minutes later, my mom and dad rush the door.

"Marinette!" Mom hugs me.

Standing by the door, are that boy I forgot- Adrien -and Nino.

They both have concerned expressions on their faces.

I look at Adrien sheepishly.

"Sorry to forget you," I apologize.

Adrien shakes his head.

"It's alright," I know his smile is forced.

I feel really bad. I think Ladybug will be able to get his true feelings out.

I sigh.

"Thanks, we'll be there in ten," Mom gets off the phone.

I didn't realize she was on it.

"Come on, Mari, you're gonna get a check-up," Mom leads me to the door.

I stop briefly, in front of Adrien.

"I'm sorry," I say and then run.

I run out of the Infirmary and to the entrance of the school, with my parents hot on my heel.

"Marinette!" Mom calls.

"Come on! I want to find out what's happened!" I reply.

(Time skip)

"So where did you feel pain when you hit your head?" the doc asks.

"Um, here," I point at the very middle of my forehead.

"Hmm, that's what I thought," after the doc says those words, I zone out, thinking about Adrien and how he must feel.

Guilt's knife stabs my heart and I cringe.

"Marinette?" I look up.

"Yeah?" I ask.

"Time to go," Mom says.

"Should I head back to school?" I ask.

"Are you kidding? No, you're going home," Mom snorts.

"Okay," I say.
