3rd Person POV

~Flashback 10 years ago~

A seven-year-old girl shines the brightest as her smile reaches her ears. Her bag swung from left to right as she skips to the almost abandoned public playground.

She roamed her eyes to the huge grassy place in front of her. She frowned because she couldn't find that certain person. He should be here this hour.

She was about to turn to her back but when she heard a familiar sweet and boyish voice, she stopped.

"Flor, " She smiled when she heard the voice of her eight-year-old friend pronouncing her name wrong as usual, but she didn't mind.

"Good morning, Muffin!" The girl grinned to the black-haired boy.

The girl calling him Muffin was nothing new. It may seem kinda girly but the lad really likes being called like that. In fact, it's his only name. His parents didn't bother giving him a name so he grew up being called nothing.

His name "Muffin" came from his favorite food and his only proper food. Every time he meets up with the girl, the latter always brings him a blueberry muffin.

"I have something for you!" The girl cheered in excitement. She was opening her lavender school bag, she then pulled a white container inside. Opening it was hard, so she made the boy open the container, popping out two blueberry muffins for them to share.

While they were eating, Fleur remembered something. "Muffin, sit like this please, " She gestured the boy to extend his legs in a sitting manner.

The boy was confused but did not bother to refuse. He nodded then he did what she said. Still biting on his muffin, he watches Fleur get a small box.

"Charaaann!~" She showed him a colorful set of small adhesive bandages. "It's for your wounds and scratches, "  She then focused on opening one with a green and orange leaves design.

The girl was really thoughtful and that's what he likes about her.

They are quite the same yet so different, she was having a hard time making friends in school, while for him... she was his only friend.

Her soft small hands caressed his bruised leg. He stopped chewing on his muffin just to admire the beauty and kindness of the girl.

'I'm living the life, ' he thought. His temporary escape from that hellhole of a house was really worth it.

He stared at the girl's pink lips as it moves when she talks. She was talking for a minute now but the boy's mind is in outer space.

"Is that a yes? Okay, " The girl said, yet the boy still couldn't hear a single thing she said.

She bowed and is now facing the boy's leg and then she held her hair. The boy was visibly confused but the next thing he knew was that her soft pink lips kissed his wound.

"That will do, " she smiled then placed a bandage on the spot.

"T-that's dirty, " the boy's face was beet-red.

"It is? My mom often does that though. I thought it will help cure wounds faster? " She pointed at the bandaged wound.

"Hey, come to think of it... what happened to you? How did you get this?" In the months they've been friends, the lad never opens up anything to the girl.

He sighed. "You won't get it, " He casually said.

She pouted and made puppy eyes. "Then make me get it."

He just shrugged. "Hug me first."

The girl didn't waste any time and hugged him tightly. "Now tell me, " She whispered.

"Hmm... I fell off the stairs, "

"Really? Bad stairs, " she frowned. "Don't worry I'm fine now, see?" He assured.

The young boy was of course, lying.

The girl, not knowing the cruel reality of life yet, it might be a lot for her to handle.

He hugged her tightly, not wanting to let her go. Not now, not ever.

He laid on his back. The girl was now on top of him, still in a hugging manner.

This is the best feeling for him. The feeling of being loved and the feeling of having freedom. He wants to cry, but no tears escaped.

For the first time, he felt humane. He finally found someone treating him like a human, like what someone wants to be treated.

"Muffin, " The girl mumbled. "How do you get friends?" She asked.

"I... I don't know," The lad was homeschooled for how long he existed. He always feels isolated and alone and the only light he can see is her. In fact, she's the first human being he laid his eyes on other than his wicked parents.

The girl frowned by hearing his answer. "Why? Then I can't ever make new friends?" Tears rolled down her face.

"Sshh, stop crying. I am here, remember? Why do you need them if you already have me? You should only have me," The boy innocently smiled that made the girl stop and she nodded as a response.

A month later after the boy's birthday... Fleur never came back.

He was devastated, he felt betrayed. He really is alone. He has no one.
