Oreo - A Kagehina short story

Oreo

This event took place during Kageyama and Hinata's typical school day. During their break, the two typically practised a bit of volleyball. But today, Hinata had something else in mind.

"Hey yamayama kun, wanna play a game?"

"No."

"Aw c'mon, just this once!"

"If you can receive one of my serves, I might consider playing your 'game'."

Hinata pouted and pulled something out of his pocket, it was a pack of Oreos. He opened the pack and pulled one out.

"I'm not  playing your game"

Hinata honestly didn't care and started explaining the rules to his game," we basically take each end and pull it apart. If your piece has the most cream, you have to do a dare I tell you to do."

"Oi, are you listening dumbass? I said I didn't want to play your game-"

Before Kageyama could finish his sentence, he was greeted with an oreo shoved to his face.

"WHAT ARE YOU-"

"ONE ROUND!"

"Just one round, please?"

Kageyama looked as Hinata stared at him with determination and sighed.

"Fine. Just one round. Then back to normal practice."

Hinata's eyes widened with excitement, "REALLY? GREAT!"

Kageyama proceeded to hold his portion of the oreo.

"On three"

"One"

"Two"

"THREE"

On Hinata's count, both of them pulled quickly their portion of the oreo.

Hinata looked down at his portion of the oreo and smiled, "looks like you have to do a dare Kageyama!"

"Huh?"

Hinata pointed at Kageyama's piece, "your piece has more cream"

"...oh..."

Hinata paused to think before pulling on Kageyama's shirt, which Kageyama to hunch down to his level. Hinata leaned in a quietly whispered something to him.

As Hinata whispered the dare, Kageyama's eyes widened.

"Seriously? No way in hell am I doing your dare."

"I mean, you agreed to this so you have to do it!"

"No"

"Yes"

"No"

"Yes"

"No!"

"Yes!"

"NO!"

Hinata suddenly had a genius idea, "NO!"

"YES!-"

"..."

"Well, you said it yourself Kageyama!"

Kageyama became irritated, "fine..."

"But you'll wait here"

"But how will I know if you do your dare?"

"Trust me... you'll know"

Kageyama turned his back and mumbled something under his breath while he walked away, presumably to do his dare.

A good five minutes had passed before Hinata heard a voice yell from behind.

"Oii"

Hinata looked back to see Kageyama, who was awkwardly fidgeting in his spot.

"Did you do your dare yet?"

Kageyama's chest started to pound.

He clearly seems nervous but, why?

"Hinata, I-"

Kageyama paused and took a deep breath. A quiet breeze of wind suddenly started to blow.

"Hinata..."

"I like you, please go out with me"

"..."

Hinata froze in place, trying to process what Kageyama just said.

"Eh?"

"EHHH?"

"WOAH WAIT A MINUTE, WHEN I- I DIDN'T-"

"...Do you actually mean it?"

Kageyama genuinely smiled, "yeah, I've had feelings for you for a while now"

"You're stupid Kageyama"

The two stared at each other wholeheartedly before Kageyama spoke up again, "right back at you"
