Should Have Left It Grey

No one but her could see.

The eyes of a happy face,
Formed with the tears of sadness.

It held neither joy nor sweetness.
Oh, how could those eyes?
For they were filled with salty tears.

Tears that held raw sorrow and poignancy.

And she need not to wail nor whimper,
She need not speak nor whisper.

Her tears spoke for her,
As though they had a voice of their own.
The tracks left behind by them made her too grey to the eye.

So people asked the famous, 'why?'
She closed her eyes,
And smiled her smile.
'People will never understand'
She whispered, taking a stand.
'So let me bring in your colors to this'

And with colors, she tried to fix it.
Smudging the grey yet perfect track.
Which's shape would now never be back.

Though now, it was colored,
Just how they had wanted.

And over their loud cheers.
Her faint words faded out.

The ones that'll ring only in her ears.
'I should have left it grey'

'I should have left it grey'

So this poem is about how society has such an impact on us. It's about how society can find flaws and how they try to correct those flaws their way and don't realize what we want. Some of us may want to be left alone with our flaws. Some of us might like them. Maybe those flaws are the reason our tracks are in perfect shape. But the peer pressure from society could push us to change them...and when we do even if it looks from the outside that our track is in good condition it could actually be completely destroyed.

And it wouldn't take long for us to realize this.

Well, that's all. Don't forget to comment your thoughts and vote.
