Chapter 2 :An Odd Attachment

I started picking up the books, it was as if the old man never heard the sound of the books falling down or maybe he was so use to it that he didn’t bother. I looked up a little up towards the window while bending over to pick up the books and I saw rishi talking on the phone with his right hand palm on this right ear to block the outside world noise.

I kept some books back to the places but I didn’t really know if it was the right place after all. I bent down again to pick up some of the books and again the flash came. This time I was sure that the flash came from behind. I turned around and there was only that old cabinet that the old book shop owner had talked about. I went near it with the fallen books still in my hand. I wondered how such incredible object could be here. When I came more close to it I could see how beautiful carvings were on it.It seemed that the Architect was trying to highlight something in particular but it was unclear what it was.

At that same instance flash of blue again hit my eyes and this time I saw it clearly coming from the cabinet. Some light was there inside the cabinet. But according to the owner he had not opened it since like ages. I started looking for a key hole and to my surprise there was none there. It was just a box it seemed, absentmindedly I touched one of the carving on it.

Time seemed to have stopped, the air seemed to have gotten thinner and there was silence such a silence that it seemed in the whole world only I was left alive. A Flash of Blue Light came about so strong that it blinded me and the doors on that cabinet or box whatever it was opened slowly revealing the contents in it.Only one book lay at the bottom. It seemed ancient. Body of the book seemed to be made of Metal. I reached out for it and upon touching the book it seemed that someone had made everything normal again. I was amused about the experience but more than that I was amused to find a book made of metal.

Upon Review it seemed as of the metal was a container for a book within. “Amazing I’ve never seen anything like this before” I said to myself. There was a small chair nearby I dragged it near me.I Looked at the counter and the old man was still inside the room on the other side. Sitting on the chair I inspected the book closely, it was nothing but metal only one odd hole on the neck of the book. It was had dust inside and with the intention of cleaning that I inserted my left index finger in it.

At that particular moment something clicked inside the book as it would when you rotate a key in a key hole. My finger got wedged inside.
