Chapter Two
I woke up sweating. I looked at the clock, 3 A.M. I ran my hands through my brown hair and exhaled.
I got out of bed and walked to the slider door in my room. I turned the alarm off on my door and walked onto the balcony. The cold air was refreshing after sweating all night. I looked at the city lights below us. We lived on a hill and we could see the whole city from our house. Cars rushed down the roads and the lights were illuminating.
I thought about hypnosis and if going back to Dr. Rasper's would actually help or make things worse. I was going to keep getting headaches from the hypnosis, though.
Was that going to be a regular thing or was it a first timer thing?
I thought about what Dr. Rasper said, Interesting. Everything you said under hypnosis.
How did they put me under hypnosis without me knowing, though?
All of these questions swarmed through my head as I stared at the thriving city below. My head started to hurt again. Maybe I should stop thinking.
But I couldn't. Thoughts swarmed through my head uncontrollably. Why couldn't I stop my thought process? What was wrong with my brain? Maybe hypnosis messed with it.
I saw movement on the hill below. I kept staring, what was it?
It was probably just a stray dog or something.
I couldn't stop staring at it, though. My curiousity was killing me. I put a bra on and grabbed some shoes and jumped off the balcony to the trellis that was two feet away. I climbed down it and jumped to the ground gracefully. I slowly walked to the movement. Instead, something grabbed me. I tried to scream, but someone put a hand over my mouth. I couldn't tell who or what it was. They were wearing gloves and I couldn't look behind me because they held me close to them and I couldn't budge an inch. They hand their other arm around my arms so I couldn't move. We were crouched to the ground behind a large rock.
Someone else walked past. I guessed that this was the person we were avoiding.
They were wearing all black and I couldn't tell who it was. They climbed up the trellis and jumped onto my balcony. They walked through my opened door. I saw the light turn on and I heard them throw stuff around, looking for something.
The person behind me sat down and pulled me down with them. They were still holding my mouth, which was good because I let out a surprised gasp. They towered over me as we sat. I had my suspicious that it was a man by their body structure. He sat Indian style and I sat on his lap. I didn't notice the awkwardness at the moment because I was extremely scared because there was a person in my room digging around.
The person climbed down the trellis and pulled out their phone.
"Nothing," the person said. It was definitely a man, "The target wasn't in her room and there's nothing of importance in there. We haven't found what we want yet." he paused, listening to the other person, "Got it, I'll be there in twenty."
He hung up and ran away.
We sat in silence for a couple more minutes until the person that I was sitting on talked.
"Don't make a sound when I let go of your mouth, okay?" he said.
His voice was familiar.
He let go of my mouth, but still held my body close to him.
"What was that?" I asked, shaking.
"We don't know yet." he replied.
"Why is that man after me?"
