I was running in pitched black which seems never ending and there seems to be bolts of lightening forming a trail at every step I take. I soon realize I was running on water and could see my reflection where I stood. I stopped to examine myself on the surface of the water. White hair!? White eyes!? I soon realize that I was having the usual dream I've been having for several nights now. As the thought left I sank into the water and was submerged fully. I couldn't see.. I couldn't breathe. It felt so real then I heard a voice muffled in the distance. It sounds as if someone is trying to tell me something. The person got closer and closer and just as I was about to hear what the person was saying.
"Wake up Sky it's time for school," Lydia said to me as she opened my curtains to let the bright morning rays lay a large blanket over my room. Lydia worked for my family for years and have been a second mother to me. She has been here for as long as I can remember.
"Oh , Lydia just give me five more minutes," I said while swooping the covers over my face. I wanted to know what the person was saying however it was too late.
"No Sky you know how you get in the mornings," she said folding her arms and giving me a motherly smile, "you need to get ready now it's almost 7."
"Okay Okay Moooom!" I said hopping out of bed and headed towards the bathroom. I brushed the dream at the back of my head thinking I have tonight to dream of it again. I did my morning routine, brush my teeth, shower, and brush my long brunette hair which happens to be my favourite part of the morning routine because I loooove my hair. It makes my brown eyes big and bright. Afterwhich I head downstairs.
I had breakfast as usual by myself. My family is not the typical loving family that would sit and have breakfast and dinner with but I would like to believe they are. My father is the CEO of a large firm on the island so hes never around whilst my mom is a major fashion designer. So yeah shes out travelling the world. I won't say its a lost because it comes with its perks. I get the latest fashion from mom and the best private tutors from my father. Education is way too important to him to allow his only child to fail.
"Bye Lydia, I'm leaving now!" I shouted rushing to the door.
"Okay later honey, be careful in that new car and carry an umb....," she said in her usual melodic voice.
New car? I thought to myself, not waiting to hear the rest of what she was saying. What is she talking about? Just as the thought left my mind, my mouth fell gaping at the sight of my new Ford Explorer that slept in garage without me knowing. It's dark brown with "My Sky" written on the license plate. OH MY GAAWD!!! Dad always knows what I want. I love large cars. I picked up the keys and excitedly hopped in.
I drove to school with a huge smile on my face ensuring that everyone that I knew, aaand maybe even some that I didn't know, saw me driving my new car. I drove up to school and parked in my reserved spot. I hopped out and immediately felt the embace of my boyfriend hugging me from behind. Justin was not only the most popular guy in the school, or the captain and best player on the soccer, football and softball team but also my soulmate. I know I know I'm young and know nothing about love but a girl can dream right?
"Hows my angel this morning?" He asked pulling me oit of my reverie and kissing me on my lips
"Hhhmmm I dunno, I would have to ask her and get back to you," I said smirking.
"Well then, I think I should go find out then," he said sarcastically turning around and walking away.
"Oooh baby you know im joking," I said grabbing his hand and walking to class, "you know I love you."
"Awww I love you too Sky!" He said kissing me.
"OKAY! Gosh you two can rent a room or just jump off the top of the school together, althought I would rather the latter," I heard the usual annoyance in my best friend's, Ashley, tone and I turned to see the tall blonde standing in her pastel blue wedge and a spaghetti stapped floral pastel blue and white dress with a white cardigan. As usual a little too much for my skinny jeans and shear kinda dressing but I loved her just the same.
"Haha.. Morning to you too your highness, whats the plan for today?" Justin asked not caring for her answer, "dominating the world I see."
"I would really like to put you in a_" she countered.
"Okay enough guys we have to go to class." I cut her off and started walking to the entrance of our school, Ciserie High. It the best school on the island and even though my dad wanted me study in America and I thought it was a really awesome idea, I have no regrets coming here.
"So Ashley see you in bio class?" I asked closing in on my class door.
"Yeah sure thing you still have to tell me the story of your new car," she said smiling and flipping her hair in the usual way that gets guys to do her bidding then turned and walked off.
"Okay see yah," I said waving to her then turned to Justin, "I'll see you later sweetness." Kisssed him then went to my class.
So my first class was chemistry which I happen to looove. I wanted to become a marine biologist since forever but chemisrty has made me rethink and maybe go into the pharmaceutical indusrty. Whichever I know it will have something to do with science.
My day flowed the usual way. Met up with Justin and Ashley at lunch then chat a bit and went to my sanctuary, the library. There I was reading about lightening as to try to figure out my stange dreams. It didn't help much though because no one had ever lived from a lightning strike.
I left my research as it was time for my last sesssion. The climate, however, did not permit that. Surprisingly the weather had changed spontaneously from this morning. It was now raining cats and dogs and thunderstorms one place after the other it was terrible. We had to cancel P.E class and everyone had to be sent home early.
Just perfect... I thought to myself.
I searched for Justin and Ashley only to learn that they had long gone.
Perfect friends. I thought as I rushed to car and jumped in totally wet. I started her up and started on the route to my house. I turned up the radio which was playing Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. I really need to get songs that could keep me awake in times like these.
I accelerated just enough to get me home faster when suddenly and image appeared blurred in front of my car and without thinking a swerved out of the way only to be graced by the front of a huge carrier truck with huge logs. I then flashed out of the way and off the track and into a bunch of trees which braced the car immediately bringing it to an abrupt stop.
Oh no. I'm so dead. Dad's gonna kill me for sure. I paniced, searching for a scratch on my body which was surprisingly fine, for the most part. I exited the car to examine the damages in the pouring rain. As I stepped out of the car and my body was immediately paralysed by a million volts of electricity. I could feel the bolts running through my veins and it felt like I would explode at any moment. I let out an loud scream and finally I fell to my face from what felt like forever. I couldn't move, think, breathe. All I could see was a billion lightening flashing before me and I felt like I was melting.
"Miss!! Miss! Oh my God are you o_" the muffled sound in the back ground was cut off as I succumbed to the darkness that was quickly taking over.
