Perfectly imperfect
Lauren sighs when she lets her eyes flutter open. She hates that their curtains aren't dark enough to block every damn sun ray that shines into their room. Everybody always sees the sun as something good and bright and happy and blah blah blah. Lauren doesn't see the sun like that. Or... at least not in the morning, cause it wakes her up.
She huffs when she turns around and sees her girlfriend sitting up against the headboard of the bed, reading a book as usual.
''Hmm, morning.'' Lauren mutters while she pushes her head into her pillow and closes her eyes again, trying to fall back into the comfort of sleep. The room stays silent and the green-eyed girl opens one of her eyes slightly to look at her.
Then she rolls her eyes and closes them again when she sees the watery eyes of her girlfriend scan every line of whatever story she's reading now.
''I said good morning.'' Lauren grumbles, reaching her hand out to Camila's stomach under the sheets to poke it. Camila's hand quickly meets hers and slaps it away and Lauren can see the annoyance in her eyes.
''Yeah, morning.'' She replies, hoping her girlfriend would stop then so she can return to the beautiful story she's reading, but she doesn't. Instead, Lauren moves her hand under her shirt and continues to poke her.
''Loooooo..'' Camila whines, trying to push her hand away from her stomach to make her fingers stop poking her ribcage, while she tries to keep reading desperately.
''You're ignoring me for a book.'' Lauren says, grabbing Camila's skin on her tummy and pinching it.
''Ow!'' Camila screeches, letting her book fall to the floor. ''Don't squish my fatty!'' She yells, now using both hands to push Lauren away from her, having more success this time than in her previous attempts.
Lauren just laughs and puts her hands still on her girlfriend's stomach, finally fully awake.
''Why did you do that, I was in the middle of a very emotional part!'' Camila says, leaning over the edge of the bed to reach for her book on the ground.
''What emotional part? No wait! Let me guess!'' Lauren says, standing up on the bed, wrapping her arms around herself dramatically. Camila just smiles up at her, knowing how Lauren feels about all these romantic stories. Lauren clears her throat and Camila puts her book away.
''Oh Romeo, you're so beautiful and handsome in the morning, your hair looks perfect even though you didn't brush it, and you smell so good! You don't stink whatsoever and even your breath is fresh without brushing your teeth! Let me kiss you!'' Lauren yells loudly and Camila just shakes her head in amusement.
''God Julia, you're such a gift from heaven! You're so beautiful, you never have food stuck between your teeth when you're done eating, your hair always flows around you so magically when the wind blows, and it never blows in your face and make you look like a witch! And your stomach is so flat, your curves are beautiful because you have none, god I love you!'' Lauren continues to yell in a low voice this time, placing one hand on her heart and the other one on her forehead and letting herself fall down on the bed dramatically.
She sighs deeply and looks up at Camila with a wide grin.
''You done?'' she asks with a smile and Lauren chuckles and nods, running a hand through her messy bed-hair.
''Come on Camz, how can you love stories like that? They're so superficial and unrealistic! I mean, writers let their characters kiss in the morning but forget about fucking morning breath! I would never do that, it's gross!'' Lauren says laying back down against her pillow and looking up at the ceiling.
