I have always been a mermaid and a human(selkies). Every mermaid has her special characteristics, my mom was also a human before she finally became a mermaid as she married my father.

I have a necklace which was passed down to me by my mom. Its that necklace that allows me to be able to stay human even if I entered a swimming pool.

I have always love going into the human world. I am from Alynth underwater kingdom.

I ran away from there when I was ten, am sure we have all heard about 'runaway bride' but in this case am a 'runaway princess'.

I was adopted by a mermaid Cece and her husband Mike, Cece was evicted from her kingdom Ilako underwater kingdom because she fell in love with a human, they also cursed her not to have a child.

Eight years later.

"Eliza" I quickly stood up from where I was lying on.

"Eliza!" Someone called me again.

"Yes Goddess!" I bowed down.

"Oh honey, the kingdom needs you, you need to come back home, the sea where you belong, you do not belong on earth".

"What do you mean?" My head still down.

"The enemies are trying to take over our kingdom".

"But how can I stop it."

"Have you ever heard another power of the necklace?" I shake my head.

"Well the necklace, the diamond to be specific is a royal, magical key which is used in times of trouble and the person who has been with the key for 5 years or more is the official guardian, come home!!!" She disappeared after her last word.

I woke up.

It was all a dream, what's that suppose to mean though.

I went to look for my mom and later found her in the kitchen.

"Mom" I call Cece my mom cause she deserves it.

"Yes hun?" She turned around to face me

"I had a dream, I think I need to go back home". As I said this her nose scrunched up in confusion so I explained my dream to her.

"Yeah, the goodness communicated with you through your dream, you need to go back home baby" she sobbed and watching her broke my heart causing me to wrap my arm around her small figure.

"I am going to miss you" she continued.

"No, you are coming with me" she raised her head so fast to face me as I said that.

"No, I can't leave Mike and moreover, am not from your kingdom so I can't go" she started shaking her head frantically.

"But it's just going to take a few days, you know the sea days and the earth days are different" I pouted my lips.

She shake head.

"Please?" I asked with big cute doe eyes.

"Who can say no to those eyes?" Mike said from somewhere frightening mom and I.

"Dad! Please tell mom to accompany me" Mike told Cece that he doesn't mind cause he would do anything for his daughter.

At last, my mom agreed and we are to leave this night. Mike was going to lie to our friends and families that we went on short notice trip.

It was finally midnight, Mike drove us to the sea where my kingdom is and the sea look so peaceful and calm at the top but who knows what's happening down there.

The aura around the sea changed as we approached the sea. I think it knows am back home, back to where I belong.

We dived into the sea, swimming towards the lever which was made of stone to open the secret door into the kingdom.

Cece and I entered the kingdom and what we saw was shocking, my friends and families in the kingdom were all slaved by the king of the enemy kingdom Sadko underwater kingdom.

"Yes! Princess Eliza is here"

"Princess Eliza" people started chanting my name. I looked around for my family and saw them chained to a rock.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't princess Eliza 'the runaway princess'" the enemy king mocked

"Well she's back now! So you better leave now or face the consequences".

He grabbed his wand and strikes it at me but I quickly dodged it and roll over to my father side.

"Dad! I need your wand" my dad told where it is, since my dad is a king then his wand would be as powerful as the enemy king's one.

He kept striking me with his wand but I kept dodging, good thing I play dodging balls.

I finally reached where my dad wand is but the security mermans were trying to capture me so Cece took care of them while I grab the wand. The king and I started striking each other but we were both equally powerful.

The necklace!

I looked at the wand and there was a space for diamond.

I quickly removed my necklace and fixed the diamond on the wand but nothing happened. The stupid king laughed at me, telling me to stop wasting my time and join my fellow prisoned family. I changed the position of the necklace then hit the bottom of the wand on the ground.

Damn! The diamond glowed brightly blinding our eyes, everywhere began spinning.

It finally stopped, the enemy king and his people collapsed while my kingdom people were freed from the chain since it was a magic chain.

In short, we took over the enemy kingdom and rule over them since we are now more powerful. Since my kingdom allows us to marry humans, my coming back home was celebrated and my story was spread. No matter where I go, I will always return back to where I belong 'The sea'.

Cece was accepted into our kingdom. She went back to earth and only come back on midsummer eve and her curse was broken, she finally gave birth to twins.

We might not live happily ever after but we faced our problems together and lived happily.
