Umbrum left soon after that, coming across Uther.
"How was your date?"
Umbrum gave him a death glare. Uther shrank under it, knowing he misspoke.
"Why do you always pry into my private affairs, Uther?"
"Well, Sire, I...I just get curious whenever I see you showing a different side of yourself."
Umbrum remained confrontational. "What do you mean?"
"You know, not killing the greatest threat to your power when you had the chance."
Umbrum blinked. "Urainia?"
"Yes, her."
Umbrum erupted in laughter, which set Uther off-balance.
"You-you really just called Urainia a threat? Urainia?"
"But she is!"
"Just because the light she creates weakens me doesn't mean she'd dare to hurt me."
Uther nodded. "Do you like her?"
"She's good company..." He trailed off, realizing the implications. "No. Just no."
"I don't know, you seem to be very close."
Umbrum took a more confrontational stance. "I'll be the judge of that, Uther. Leave my sight."
