Chapter 1: This is Willow Black

    Willow Black. Born to a drug addict, Willow learned from a young age what it means to be independent. Willow Black is the daughter of Sirius Black and a woman who had it all together until that fateful night that wanted to rip not one but two families apart. When Sirius Black went to Azkaban, Willow's mother drank herself into darkness and by the next night she was snorting blow up her nose. Every night it was a new drug and every night it was a new lesson for Willow. Being only three when her father went to Azkaban, Willow still very much remembers how in spite of every new man her mother brought into her life, and every new drug her mother tried, Willow Black still very much loved her mother.

"Willow!" her mother cried one fateful night thirteen years later after her father's arrest. Willow felt herself sigh as she rolled out of bed and walked down the hallway into the living room. Willow's mother stood near the door, where they had a mail slit. She was holding an envelope in her hand. "What is this?"

"How am I supposed to know without reading it?" Willow shot back, instantly regretting it when her mother struck her cheek. Her mother tossed her the letter and stalked out of the room.

HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore

Dear Mr/Ms. Black,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. And because of your age you will be starting as a Sixth Year and when you arrive you will be sorted with the First Years. Do not fret you will be able to catch up to know everything a Sixth year should know.

Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

"What the hell is Hogwarts?" Willow breathed under her breath.

"It is a school for Wizards and Witches. You know all those times you have shown something weird that you can not explain?" a voice made her jump. Willow turned around to see the latest guy her mother brought home standing in the door way to the living room.

"How would you know anything about it?" Willow asked the man whose name, her mother told her, was Fenrir Greyback.

"Because everyone in the Wizarding world knows that the four best schools are Hogwarts, Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Durmstrang Institute and Beauxbatons Academy of Magic." Greyback stated.

"Do you think I should attend then?" Willow asked.

"You are sixteen aren't ya?" Greyback asked looking back over his shoulder then coming closer, "Then you can make that decision for yourself. If you want to stay here with an abusive drug addict then that is your choice, or if you want to go to school where you can get away from her for weeks on end then that is your choice as well."

"You know you are a sleazeball but you do have your moments of kindness." Willow smiled weakly, "I am going to write them back and get somethings together. Cover for me?"

"Sure kid," Greyback nodded, walking back to where he came from. Whatever he was doing to her mother was none of her business and if he ended up either killing her (by accident or not) or knocking her up (by accident or not) was none of her business as well.

But one thing she was sure of, even though she knew there was something very strange and sleazy about Fenrir Greyback she still owed him her life. On more than one occasion Greyback has gotten in between her and her mother during the worst of her mother's abusiveness. Her mother for some reason blames her for her father going to Azkaban even though at the time she was only three.
