Willow's POV:

I felt myself compelled to stay away from Harry as he lay in the hospital wing after a freak accident on the Quidditch Pitch. I still felt bad for not being there for him, but I felt like it was for the best that I keep my distance and try to work more on finding where the man who helped give me life. With a little help from Hermione Granger, I was coming along nicely.

I swore her to secrecy though. Mostly because I knew that Harry would want to kill the man and Ron will go where ever Harry goes. And for that I admire Ron a little, though I find him more annoying then anything else.

However, there is still one challenge I face these days. The ever growing feelings for Severus Snape. As much as I did not want to admit it, they were there.

"Are you going to sit about in a daydream or are you going to do the work that I have assigned, Miss. Black?" I about fell from my chair when the voice startled me from my thoughts. I could hear the snickers from some of the other students behind me as I tried to figure out where I was. There were vials of liquids in front of me as well as some other things that smelled rather awful. I looked from what was on the table to the person the who the voice belonged to.

"Sorry Professor," I muttered, my mouth as dry as a cactus. Severus sighed and moved back to his desk. I looked to the person occupying the table with me only to find that I was all alone in this class. No one had bothered to be my partner, so I was stuck trying to figure out how to cut the beans. When I finally did we were dismissed. I slumped in my chair as all the other students gathered their things and left.

By the time they were gone, I was alone with a man who has captured my attention and possibly my heart without my knowledge.

"Aren't you going to be late for whatever it is that you do once classes are done for the day?" Severus questioned a certain kind of coldness to his voice.

"I-I, uh I am sorry for dazing." I mutter, though I could hear myself choke on my words like my tongue was slipping on words. Severus looked up at me from the papers on his desk with a flicker of what I thought was amusement, but as soon as it came it went.

"You are not the first nor will you be the last student to do that, so do not be apologizing for." he muttered, looking back down at his desk.

"Can I ask you something Professor?" I spoke once I re-found my courage. "Of course you don't have to answer if you do not want to. It may be overstepping the lines of student teacher relationship's." I noticed a sudden change in his demeanor like he knew the question I was going to ask but allowed me to continue anyway.

"It's about yesterday after Greyback left and we were alone." I gulped as I felt my palms sweat.

"Nothing is to come of what happened here last night." Severus stated, his face showing no emotion as he continued to stare at the papers on his desk. "Do you understand?"

I felt my stomach fall to my knees as I quickly nodded my head and muttered a simple yes. I had finally managed to gather my things and as I was about to turn and leave Severus stood up from his chair and stopped me from going any further.

"But do not think that I would not like for something to come of it." he whispered, as I could almost hear his heartbeat race as we stood within inches of each other. I closed my eyes for a split second before reopening them only to find him still there. I looked up at him and searched his face for any clues that might allow me to do the one things that I want to do so very much at this moment. "But you have to know that if anything did, I would be fired and cast as a disgrace to teach anymore students."
