Phana stepped out of the cab, his heart racing with excitement. The place was everything he'd imagined and more. Though he had never been there before, the bustling city felt familiar, almost like a connection to the memories his father had left behind. This was where his dad had studied, built dreams, and made unforgettable memories. Now, it was Phana's turn to live those moments.
After hours of cleaning, unpacking, and setting up his small dorm room, he finally relaxed with a long, soothing shower. Slipping into a simple white shirt and blue jeans, topped with a snug blue pullover, he felt ready to explore the city.
He flagged down a cab to the nearest convenience store, eyes wide with wonder as he soaked in the sights outside. The tall skyscrapers, the vibrant streets filled with vendors, and the enticing aroma of street food made his stomach growl. For a moment, he wanted to abandon his plans and sample every dish from the food stalls, but he restrained himself. There would be time for that later.
Phana entered the store, his list in hand. He moved between aisles, filling his basket with groceries and other necessities, when his eyes landed on something that made him freeze in his tracks: cupcakes.
Rows and rows of cupcakes in every imaginable flavor—chocolate, vanilla, mocha, strawberry, lemon—called out to him. He felt his mouth water as he asked the store clerk to pack one of every flavor. Still distracted by thoughts of the sugary treats, he turned a corner without looking and collided with something—or rather, someone.
Mingkwan Daichapanya cursed under his breath. He had come to the convenience store for a quick break after a tedious business meeting. All he needed was a pack of cigars, but instead, someone had bumped into him, sending him off balance and straight onto the floor—on top of the culprit.
He was ready to lash out at whoever was responsible for this clumsiness when his eyes fell on the young man beneath him. For a moment, time seemed to freeze.
The boy—no, the young man—had the face of an angel. Wide, innocent brown eyes stared up at him in a mixture of pain and surprise. His cheeks were dusted with a soft pink flush, and his lips... Ming's gaze lingered on those lips, plump and trembling as though they were inviting him to take a taste.
Before he could stop himself, Ming felt an unfamiliar pull, a desire he hadn't felt before. But then the boy winced, and Ming realized his hand was pressed against the other's stomach, supporting his full weight.
"Get off me! It hurts!" the young man whimpered, tears spilling from his eyes. Ming cursed internally, trying to move, but in the process, he slipped again. This time, his lips landed directly on the boy's.
It wasn't just a graze—it was a full kiss. The softness of those lips against his sent an electric jolt through his body. Ming had kissed no one before, always considering intimacy beneath him. He preferred control and power, and kisses never factored into that equation. Yet, this simple act unraveled something in him he didn't understand.
The boy pushed at Ming's chest with surprising strength, breaking the kiss. Ming got to his feet, brushing himself off, and extended a hand to help the young man up.
"I-I'm sorry, phi," the boy stammered, his voice trembling, tears brimming in his large, expressive eyes. "I didn't mean to bump into you. I was distracted thinking about cupcakes, and then—and then—" His words tumbled out in a nervous rush, his cheeks glowing a bright crimson.
Ming raised an eyebrow, his irritation bubbling as the boy continued to ramble, his voice high-pitched with panic.
"And then you—you fell on me, and your hands—your hands were on my stomach, and it hurt a lot! And then—" Phana's voice caught, his blush deepening. "A-and then you... you kissed me!"
