Wooyoung opened his eyes slowly, pupils dilating before shrinking against the strong sunlight pouring into his room, across his bed. With heightened sight, it was harder to simply blink back the pain of the brightness.

The teen grumbled before rolling onto his side and shielding himself from the rays. The sheets were so warm, and he loved it.

But the momentary bliss was short-lived as a whole collection of intense memories came bowling into his relaxed mind, reminding him of the events from the prior night, and what was different this time.

A strand of white hair fell over his eyes as he shifted again to lay on his back. White hair. So it was really real. He hadn't just dreamt up some sort of horrible nightmare, or possibly a magical dream.

The human barely noticed the dip at the end of the bed as someone sat down. He flinched, tilting his head to take a look.

"Seonghwa?"

The ravenette winked softly, extending his hand out and taking Wooyoung's in his own. "Hey, Woo. Yeosang and San are off 'settling business', whatever that means. They're trusting me for the first time to look after you again, so I'm on my best behaviour, I promise."

"I've never doubted you, Hwa. I've been wanting to see you for so long."

The mixedblood retracted his arm and nodded as he thought. "It's really unfair, isn't it? How our cards have been played. Neither of us particularly wanted this situation, yet here we are."

"I'm simply glad that of all the vampires in the world to metaphorically 'belong to', it was San that found me. At least he has some level of morality."

Seonghwa rolled his eyes like they were discussing two evils and deciding on the better of them. Perhaps they were. Either way, he wanted to pull time back and relive the moment it all went wrong. To watch out for that car.

No.....

To stop Wooyoung from running out on that errand and meeting Choi San that night.

"You seem bothered," the white-haired boy commented, "Is something the matter? If it's about me, I'm feeling amazing. I honestly feel as though I could run a mile right now."

"You probably could, to be honest. What with a completely improved body that was originally intended to protect its master. You're basically a superhuman now, y'know?"

"Ew. Let me be normal again."

The older chuckled happily, crawling over the duvet and collapsing down beside his best friend to wrap his arms around him and cuddle. "We have all day. You don't have to go to school for obvious reasons right now."

"No way. Really?"

"Really."

"What the hell were you thinking?!" San hissed, having Ahyoung cornered as he and Yeosang stood before her in an empty hall. The female appeared panicked for the first time in her life, and it wasn't a wonderful experience.

"Jeez, San. You're just blinded by it all because of those silly emotions for a human. He's using you. The boy clearly doesn't feel the same way you do, and instead takes advantage of what you can give him. Humans and vampires can't mix. And most of all, he's a male. You're not into men."

The older couldn't quite believe what he was hearing. These wild and baseless accusations that led nowhere and amounted to absolutely nothing. Wooyoung wasn't one bit manipulative. Nor did San have a preferred gender as this was his first love. The correct term for what Ahyoung was spouting, was 'bullshit'.

"I'm going to give you one warning," he muttered lowly, not needing much volume since the ears of a vampire worked like those of a cat's. "Stay the hell away from him. He's not some sort of game or doll, and he certainly doesn't belong to you. You can't do as you wish with him, and I would know for I've been trying to tame him for months."

"San...."

Yeosang tapped his shoulder softly, whispering in his ear, "Is she really only getting away with a warning?"

The pureblood pursed his lips frustratedly, "As much as I would so very much love to hit her right now, she's a woman. I have morals and etiquette that I uphold, even if the whole damn world around me is spiralling into a modern way of thinking." His eyes trailed over her fearful frame. "One more threat from you, and I won't hesitate to break every bone in your body, let them heal, and snap them all over again."

She gritted her teeth, "This isn't fair! The whole time we've been together, you've never even noticed me. Yet some snappy boy comes along, and it's all 'heart eyes' from you. What's wrong with what I have? W-Why couldn't it have been me?"

Yeosang started to walk back down the other direction of the hall, giving this sort of conversation space since the rage seemed to have died down a little.

"Ahyoung, we've been friends since we were infants. You're like a distant sister."

Her nails dug into her palms as droplets of blood flecked across the tiled floor with small, crystal tears. "This isn't fair...."

"It is what it is, regardless of 'right and wrong'. I'm sorry things didn't work out for you, but I assure you my feelings for Jung Wooyoung are not 'half-assed' as one would call it, or fleeting. I love him."

"Stop...."

"So please move on."

A silence enveloped the small space as both digested the harsh reality of the conversation. They had each lost a friend in each other, and a shoulder they once had to lean on. San couldn't help but thank her for one thing, though.

Pushing him and his love together.

The sound of small sobs and pitiful curses strung out and filled the hallway. San took them as his queue to leave her alone, and thus started walking away.

He had no empathy or sympathy for others.

Not unless they reached inside his heart and earned his affection.
