Midoriya hummed to himself as he examined the quirks of his students. Most of them were pretty decent, and they were actually pretty proficient in using them. The only reason they didn't get into the hero course was because most of the hero course students had stronger quirks, but that can be fixed easily with a bit more creative thinking on how to apply their quirks.
Not to mention, there was a child in his class that was also quirkless, also trying out for the hero course. He was proficient enough in hand to hand combat, though, and Midoriya swore he had never felt so proud in his life. Except maybe that time where Bakugou finally got his head out of his ass and apologized for bullying him all those years ago.
Since it was the first day of school, Midoriya dismissed his class early, and headed back to the teacher's lounge; he needed to do some quirk analysis, and a proper training plan. If he was going to get his class to get into the Hero Course through the Sports Festival, he was going to need a game plan; he had limited time, and limited facilities.
"Hey, Zuzu." Shinsou grinned, turning the corner and noticing the green haired man. Midoriya looked up, and grinned widely, "Hey, Hi-chan."
"So, how was your first day of teaching?" Shinsou casually slung his arm over the smaller man, and the greenette literally started vibrating on the spot, "It was awesome! My class was so obedient! And they actually like me as a teacher! Even though I'm quirkless! It's just really, really unexpected and I really thought I wouldn't be cut out for it because everyone's quirks keep getting better and -"
"Hold that thought." Shinsou gently shook Midoriya, cutting him out of his ramble, and Midoriya sheepishly scratched his head, "I guess I haven't kicked that habit yet, huh?"
"Yep." Shinsou nodded, popping the "p", "It's really cute, but please, you don't want to startle your class with your rambling."
"I suppose so." Midoriya sighed, and he pushed open the door to the teacher's lounge, finding Monoma lying face down on the couch.
"Hey, Monoma? You okay, man?" Shinsou walked over, and poked the blond in the shoulder, eliciting a groan from the copycat.
"What do you want?" Monoma whined, pushing his hand up, "Your class isn't better than mine!"
"Yeah, nothing's wrong with him." Uraraka gave a dry laugh, as she sieved through a couple of medical records with Todoroki, "He's been like that since he dismissed his class."
"I mean... we went over the new rules and regulations." Monoma groaned, pushing himself up into a sitting position, "They just implemented the new rules this year. They know that while they're place in the Hero Course is less at risk, there is still a huge chance that other students from other course would have a higher chance of moving up."
"Yep! The new rules give less directly offensive quirks a much higher chance of being recognized for heroics." Iida nodded, chopping his hands about, "They are also loosened some laws and restrictions, allowing more flexible quirk usage for self defense, so that is also great in allowing people to protect themselves without the need for a hero to be present! What you did really set a lot of things into motion, Midoriya!"
"I really didn't do anything..." Midoriya shook his head, and Shinsou let out a small chuckle, "Yeah, yeah, you didn't do anything at all, Zu."
"Hey!" Midoriya looked up at the taller lavender haired man and poked his cheek, "Don't act like you didn't help either, you willow tree!"
"Haa? What kind of nickname is that, Floof?" Shinsou snorted, more amused than insulted, "That's even worse than "Bush"! Have you never trash talked in your life?"
"Well, I am now, you insomniac cat." Midoriya retorted, though by the reddening of his cheeks, it was clear that even as dense and dopey as he was, even he could tell that it was a terrible insult.
