I was not happy. Of course, no one was. It was September 1st, the first day back at school, and everyone was grumpy. I stood at the bus stop, waiting for Liam. As usual, he was late. I had known Liam Aspen since he was born. They'd been each other's only friends since kindergarden. My thoughts were interrupted by a pattering of footsteps. "Hey, Cass!" I turned, and my breath was taken away. Liam had been in France for the summer, and I hadn't seen him for months. I'd always kind of known Liam was hot but, wow. His usually pale arms were tanned brown, and his white blonde hair was a sunny gold. He had gotten his braces taken off, so his teeth were bright white, and his arms muscular in the white tank top was wearing. I breathed out a faint "Hey" and he laughs. I had always liked his laugh. Where were these thoughts coming from? I shake my head, trying to shake off the odd thoughts in my head as well. "You've changed!" I exclaim, breaking the silence. He chuckles and replies "You have too, Cass!" I look down at my slightly tanned arms and slightly sun kissed hair "Not as much as you" I respond sadly. "Don't be sad" He touches my cheek. When did his hands get so attractively big? The part of my brain that still makes sense says; SHUT UP! But every other part says; Take him before anyone else does! I shush my thoughts, as I hear the school bus coming. I climb the dirty black steps, with Liam close behind me, I hear half the girls on the bus gasp. Apparently Liam isn't just hot to me. Behind me, his nervous laugh makes me smile.
