(This is pretty bad I'm really sorry! Also, I wasn't sure what kind of quirk to give the reader so I just settled on an electricity quirk... kind of like Kaminari.. this also ended up being A LOT longer than I thought so I'm sorry!)

Dabi's POV:
I truly thought I was unlovable.. Ive killed too many to count, destroyed things, committed unforgivable crimes, I'm burned as hell, and I'm just overall... not a good person. I long for affection like anyone would, but who would want me?
I don't know why y/n stuck around, i didn't want her to stick around at first. But she didn't leave, and I'll be forever grateful she didn't..
She sort of reminded me of how I was a few years ago. Lost, unsure, confused, upset, lonely, scared..
I'm a bad guy though right? So why didn't I push her away like I have with everyone else in my life?
The answer isn't that hard, it's because I love her.It was late, cold, and pitch black out.
November is always a colder month, but at night the frigid air is nice to just breathe in sometimes... especially with a cigarette or two.I don't really smoke, only when I really feel the urge to which isn't that often.. I try and stay away from it, I'm well aware of how bad they are for you. But sometimes they're soothing. The bitter smelling and tasting smoke on my tongue just kinda reminds me to breathe deeply.
Everyone was inside in the headquarters, but Toga didn't want me to light my cigarette up inside, so I stepped out to smoke instead. I really didn't mind though. I needed an excuse to not listen to that scabby motherfucker ramble on about his plans in the future. I'm all for his plans, I just hate listening to him talk sometimes... he always just has to go on and on.I was leaning against the wall a few feet away from the door. I was just smoking for a bit, but before I was about to go back inside I heard something.
Our headquarters are really secluded, and hard to find, so any noises I usually heard off in the distance were just stray cats or somethings. But
this sounded different and it put me on edge.
Like someone's footsteps, their shoes scraping along the pavement occasionally. It was dark and there aren't any lights around here anywhere, so if I used to my fire to help me see whoever was walking past would see me too.
It couldn't have been a hero. If it were there'd be an entire goddamn team of them, and it was like midnight anyway.
I was still ready to shut someone up if I had to, even if it meant hurting, or possibly killing them. I wasn't gonna take any chances right now, I had things I needed to do with the league.I dropped my cigarette on the ground and stepped on it the put it out when I heard the footsteps coming in my general direction.
Whoever it was, they were close enough for me to see almsot...
The only thing I could see in the pitch black was a figure of what looked like a girl, her hands shoved into the pockets of her jacket, her head hung a bit low.The hell is she doing?
It's freezing outside, the middle of the night and shes by herself, that's a little ballsy if I'm being honest... even in a world full of quirks.
Suddenly the footsteps stopped, and the girl stood there for a minute. I couldn't really tell where she was looking but she must have saw me.
I'll admit, by this point I was a bit annoyed and a little worried. I didn't know what she was doing, what her quirk was, or anything like that. You cant really blame me.There was a sudden but quick burst of light, that had an yellowish shade to it, followed by a loud zap like noise if I could describe it as anything. It sounded... electric?
It must have been her quirk, it was that brief flash of light that aloud me to see that she was in fact, a girl... and she looked nervous. It made me jump back as it did actually startle me. I was quick to ignite my fire in my hands as I walked closer to her.
I thought she was gonna try and attack me, but the moment she saw my hand light up I saw her stumble backwards onto the pavement below.
"The hell do you think you're doing here?!" I said harshly. The girl flinched at my words and squinted her eyes shut before finally speaking up.
"I-I'm sorry! I only did that so I could see if someone was standing there! please don't hurt me..."
Her voice was wavering, and quiet, she sounded so afraid..I've heard words like this all before, people who try and attack me will suddenly beg for me to spare them like the pathetic excuses of low life criminals they are. I obviously don't care about them, that's why I burned them.
But something in the back of my head was telling me to just wait, so I did.I never let my flame go out, I just stood there and waited for her next move.
What she did next... I wasn't expecting it.Slowly, she opened her eyes again, her face still half hidden by the darkness. I could see her shaking, not sure if it was cause of the cold or cause of her fear, perhaps both even.
She looked up at me with such an... innocent, scared look.
She reminded me of some kind of sweet delicate doll, With those big e/c eyes, staring at the flame in my hand with a fixated gaze. I could see the reflection of the fire in her irises.
Her skin looked soft, her cheeks rosy from the cold. I'll admit it, she was beautiful. A thing like her shouldn't be wandering around these areas at night. Her quiet voice brought my attention back from her face.
"how pretty.." she spoke in a tone just barely above a whisper, her eyes still locked on the fire.
Pretty?
My power isn't pretty. It's killed, and destroyed. That's all it's good for really, destruction. At least that's what I've been told my whole life.
They've called it destructive, dangerous, monstrous, all the bad names you can think of.
But pretty? I don't understand how it's pretty... it's just blue fire. Fire that's used for no good doing whatsoever really.I did become suspicious someone may have sent her to spy on us though. It was unlikely but I wasn't taking my chances that night.
I let my fire go out and kneeled down on the ground in front of her.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?""My name I-is y/n... I didn't mean to upset you I'm sorry. I was just walking home, a-and I thought this way would be quicker. I'm s-so sorry about that, I didn't intend on attacking you or anything!"
I wasn't expecting her to give such a through reply but I was satisfied with her answer nonetheless. She didn't seem suspect really. I had a feeling she wasn't lying, but I was worried that I had startled her more than she did me.
"Whatever it's fine I guess... but you shouldn't be here. It's dangerous don't you know that?"
I told her, trying to keep my voice down while she nodded."I know.. guess I wasn't really thinking that through."
That tone of voice was something I recognized. Pain.
She just sounded so sad."You should go home, it's not safe here." I told her as I stood back up. She looked up at me, giving a week smile. It was definitely forced, I could see the emptiness behind those eyes.
"I should but... I just- don't really feel like it."
She said as she shrugged, finally getting up from the cold ground.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
She looked me in the eyes for just a split second, "I'm just... not interested going home to the life I have. It isn't what I want."I know that feeling all too well
I kinda felt bad for this y/n honestly. But I didn't know what to tell her really.
"Well... still you shouldn't be around here, but.." I trailed off and thought. Would the others be upset or try to hurt her? Maybe if she joined the league... she could stay with us.I'll just have to see how it goes...
(This is HORRIBLE I'm so sorry. It was a lot longer than I expected but I go so bored of writing it💀😭)
