Chapter One
_______________________"I wanna leave this small town."
Juliette looked at me surprised from the words that came out my mouth. "Leave? Why leave, it's so peaceful here."
"That's why I want to leave, everything here is predictable. I want thrills, something that chills my bones." My other friend Gwen sighs, "Why am I not surprised you want to travel the world. The only thing I'm worried about about is you getting lost, or kidnapped. And not only that you need permission from your mom."
I groaned I knew my mother would never accept the fact that I wanted to travel the world. "Then what should I do?" Juliette had a look of empathy on her face. While Gwen just shrugged it off not saying anything.
"I'm going to ask my mom just in case she changes her mind." I got up and and walked to the door hastily closing it. I started walking down the staircase, watching my step. I went into the living room where my mother was.
"Hey kiddo, what is it?" My mother had a grin on her face while she was flipping through the magazine.
"Mom, about traveling can I please go hit this once and I pro-"
"I said no, didn't I tell you this many times before. My answer won't change no matter what!"
"It's about dad isn't it? Just because dad traveled and got injured and was careless you think I'll do that too? I'm different than dad."
"I never said that." My moms face flinched with hurt and soon after she was angry. Her forehead wrinkles, "Go back to your room."
"Bu-", "No buts or anything go to your room, and those friends of yours have been putting delusional ideas in your head, stop hanging around them." My mother got up from the couch and slapped her magazine onto the kitchen table.
My throat started forming a lump, I tried hard to swallow the lump but it burned. I went up the staircase making sure to make thumping sounds along the way. I opened my door and slammed it shut the hardest I could so my mother would hear it from the kitchen.
"So... How'd it go?" Juliette grinned sheepishly. I grumble, "It went horrible, she said no! And then she told me to stop hanging around you guys!"
"Well ouch, she doesn't approve of us." Gwen gets up from my bed and just looks at me straight in the eye. "What's done is done and can not be undone."
"Wow don't you sound so poetic today." Juliette just snorts rolling her eyes. I just laugh, "To be, or not to be that is the question."
"Hamlet so classic, you actually paid attention in English class." Gwen just grins and flops back down onto my bed.
"Yup, wanna hear more?" I said grinning back at the two of them.
"Uh no we aren't that into poetry." She just looked dull.
"How about running away?" I just looked at Juliette and I could also see Gwen from the corner of my eyes sitting up and giving her an uneasy look.
"I don't know isn't that too much? Wouldn't our parents be worried?" Gwen shifts uncomfortably.
"Look Gwen if you don't want to go you don't have to. I'm asking it more for Madi. So how about it Madi? Wanna run away far from home?" Juli just had a mischievous grin on her face.
"What are you planning Juli?" Gwen gives her a tense and heated glare.
"Nothing, just offering some options." Juli just looks at us with her hands in the air as if she's surrendering.
"I, no we both don't need to get caught up in one of your stupid plans!" Gwen starts shouting and her face starts becoming the shade of red.
"Just think about it Madi." Juli looks at me pleading and than soon after gets up and leaves my room saying she is leaving.
"What's wrong with her?! I swear sometimes she lost her mind." Gwen huffs and gets up and also leaves saying goodbye. Then it was just me sitting alone in my room thinking about what Juli said.
I think about it a bit more and than I start packing my stuff. Because I, Madeline Piper Flores, is going to run away from this small town. Far away from here and become the runaway girl. I grab a few clothes, and the other essential materials. I start planning out to my escape. I have a window so I could use my bedsheets to climb out the window which wasn't even one story high. I could climb out at midnight when my mom is asleep. And I would take my car with me. As I plan this out, my mother calls me to come downstairs for dinner.

I've got my suitcase and my car key, I start making a rope out of my bedsheets. After that I tie the end to the bed leg and thankfully my bed is next to the window.
I open the window to feel the breeze, I take out the screening and it clatters. I freeze not making a sound to make sure my mother is still asleep.
She didn't wake up which is good, I soon swing the makeshift rope and carefully toss the suitcase onto the grass to not make any sound. Soon after I start climbing down the makeshift rope.
I got down safely and I yank the bedsheets down and hold them. I quickly get my suitcase and I open my trunk to stuff the bedsheets. I open the car door and start the engine. I turn on the radio to listen to music, as I leave the small town not knowing the destination.
