Dragon Slayers

Brain storming/writing ~

This story is of a child named Ryu.

       Two energetic brothers the age of 10, Ryu, and 11, Finn,  are in the mountains near their village chasing down a slime, pretending it was a quest they had to accomplish no matter what.

"We'll be adventurers, Ryu!" said Finn, the brother of Ryu, as they chased a slime across grass and dirt. "Get him!! He's getting away!!" yelled Finn in a voice of excitement. The pursuit of the slime continued on and on until the slime ran itself into a dead end in between a mountain crevice. "We got him, Ryu! This is our first adventurer's quest! We won't fail!" said Finn. "He has nowhere to run! Now's our chance!" said Ryu as he stepped towards the cornered Slime.

A battle commences: Finn strikes the slime with his wooden sword. His attacks were not strong, but it did enough when combined with Ryu's help. The Slime fights back by throwing his 'Gel bombs'. One hits Finn and explodes in a gooey slimy mess, knocking him down. Without hesitation, Ryu Charges at the slime with his wooden blade held high for a powerful smash. The attack connected and the slime tumbles backwards as Finn gets up and yells "Now, Ryu!!". It was a command to swing their blades at the same time to finish the tired slime. The wind up their swings and at the same time, they smashed the slime's head. But The slime didn't flinch. It absorbed their wooden swords and ran off. Hopping away with two swords stuck to it's body, it attempted to make it's escape.

"W-Wait!!" Finn stuttered as he called to the slime. "Chase him, bro! He has our swords!!" Ryu said as he ran after the slippery Slime. When the slime looked behind him, he saw Ryu gaining speed. Panicking, the Slime spits the weapon at Ryu, causing him to fall. The slime runs into the forest. Finn finally catches up to Ryu but runs ahead into the forest while yelling "Bring the swords! I'll go on ahead!". Barely entering the forest, Finn bumps into a larger slime. It's thick, rubbery, gelatinous form knocks back Finn. Ryu, still on the ground  looks up to find a slime much bigger than himself. While stuttering, Ryu says "F-Finn! W-WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!". Finn gets back up and stares at the huge Slime standing beside the smaller Slime that they were chasing earlier. Turning towards Ryu, Finn said in a grumpy voice "He.. TOLD HIS MOM ON US!!". Finn rushes to Ryu's side and grabs one of the swords that Ryu was holding onto. "We.. should leave" Ryu suggested. "NO! We won't fail this!! we're going to defeat them both! It's two on two!" Finn suggested. "I'll fight the little one then.." Ryu answers back. "Fine with me!" Finn replies. 

A battle commences: The huge Slime becomes impatient and tucks in it's two eyes that stuck out and rolls towards Finn. Finn steps to the side and sticks his blade out, attempting to have the Slime slice himself with it's own rolling force. The Slime rolls against it and breaks the wooden sword in half without stopping. "W-what.." Finn stares in amazement at the power of the huge slime.

Ryu, still fighting the baby slime, remembers the huge slime tucking in his eyes. "Maybe that's the weak spot!" Ryu whispers to himself. He stabs the baby slime in the eye and notices that it's the only spot that isn't gelatinous. The baby slime tucks in the other eye and attempts to harden it's gelatinous body. Ryu notices and strikes the slime as it starts to harden, shattering the baby slime all at once. Upon hearing the crack of Finn's wooden blade, Ryu turns around and heads toward Finn. "Are you going to be done anytime soon?" Ryu says to Finn jokingly. "Shut up and Help me! He broke my sword!!" Finn said in an annoyed tone. Ryu runs to Finn and stares at his broken sword. "He broke it so easily" Finn said after noticing Ryu staring at his sword. "That's a good thing!" Ryu said with a grin. "No! This is a BAD thing! I don't have a weapon anymore!" Finn shouted. "You don't need one. See the tip? It's just what we need! Their weak spot is the eye!" Ryu explained. "Then you're right.. this is perfect!" Finn said as he turned toward the huge slime. Ryu walks forward to stand beside his brother, Finn. "I'll help you out with this one" Ryu said with an eager smile". "I can beat him myself, but I guess you need to train too. Let's do it, Ryu!!!!" Finn said as he charged straight at the slime with Ryu right beside him.
