"Ugh, why won't the mail get here already?" Seán groaned impatiently, sitting outside of his cabin on the steps, watching the mailbox intently. "Although I do live in the middle of nowhere." He added in a mumble, his leg bouncing.

It was currently late in the afternoon, rain gently drizzling down on him from fluffy gray clouds.

Seán had sent in college applications weeks ago to different colleges, hoping at least one of them would accept him.

Seán snapped out of his thoughts when the mail truck drove up, his eyes widening with a grin stretching across his face as he watched the mailman open their mailbox and shove a couple letters in before driving off.

"Please please please-" Seán chanted as he sprinted to the mailbox, hands shaking lightly as he opened the mailbox out and sifted through the mail.

A bill and three letters for him.

Seán ran into the cabin, tossing the bill onto the kitchen table as he raced into his room and slammed the door shut to open the letters.

The first one rejected him, the second one the same.

Seán sighed, tossing the rejection letters in the trash before focusing on the remaining envelope. "C'mon, Irish luck..." He opened the letter slowly, biting his lip as he dropped the envelope and read the letter carefully.

"It is our pleasure to accept Seán William McLoughlin at Athlone Institute of Technology..." He murmured in disbelief before laughing and tossing the letter onto his desk. "I did it!" He sat on his bed, his mind racing as he realized all the things he had to do before starting.

"Better start packing I guess, classes start in a week." Seán murmured thoughtfully, glancing around his room before leaving to find boxes to pack his things in.

The days passed in a blur of filling out online forms for the college, packing his things, and signing up to live in a dorm.

"Here's a room...I dunno who Anti is, hopefully he'll be a cool roommate." Seán muttered as he reserved a spot in the room. "I'll pick up groceries and anything I've forgotten after I've moved in."

With that settled, the only things left were to move to his new dorm, get his class schedule, and figure out where his classes would be.

Seán called a taxi and gathered all of his things, hoping everything would fit. "I tried packing light..." He sighed, walking though his now empty cabin. "I'll be back soon." He smiled faintly and pat the wooden walls, his mind drifting.

"What if I do horrible in my classes? What if my roommate is a total dick? What if -"

His thoughts were interrupted by the taxi pulling up, honking to alert him of their arrival. He shook his head to brush the thoughts off, grunting softly as he picked up all of his stuff and walked outside.

The driver thankfully helped Seán pack of his stuff into the back before getting back into the driver's seat, waiting for Seán to get in.

Seán hesitated, glancing over at his cabin. "I'll be back before I know it." He climbed into the taxi, watching his cabin fade from view through the window as he leaned his head against it.

A/N: I don't know why I got the motivation to write this, but not the motivation to update my current works, I'm sorry XD. Sorry this chapter is short, the next one will be longer
