Prologue

I don’t get it? Why am I always the secret agent to go on assignments all the way around the world? Why me, Ralph Williams? I have had ideas that I might just be one of the best agents out there, but if I am I don’t really have a problem with it. I love traveling and making new friends, except for one time when I was younger. I was about twenty-three and lived just outside of New York City. I had just joined the secret agent society just inside town. My first assignment was having to go back to college to catch drug dealers on campus. I was going in with a partner named John Luke. We found out that two girls, one Jessica Martinez and two Brittany Maynard were killed by the drug that was being sold so called lemon-27. I wasn’t very happy about having to go back to college after just getting out a few months ago and neither was my partner. With a groan John said, “They’re sending us straight back into college? What kind of job is this”?  Actually it wasn’t as bad as we thought it was going to be. 

Chapter 1

“Look at the girls bro, they are smoking hot. There weren’t any this fine at our college” I said. “I know right, I guess there just not into law enforcement Ralph, there just into parties and beer” said John. “Oh I’ll get them into law enforcement” I said with a smirk on my face and my bright blue eyes on a fine looking girl. Once we got settled into our dorm we decided to go take a walk around campus but before we left our neighbors came out and they were twins. They were kind of odd because they knew what each other were thinking and would finish each other’s sentences. “Hey guys he’s Thomas”, “and he’s Brad” said both of them pointing at each other. “Sup guys? I’m Ralph and that’s John”. Looking at them strangely, I asked them if they would show us around since they had been there for a while and they agreed. While they were showing us around we were also searching for drug selling without trying to blow our cover. They showed us the lunchroom and there was not really any suspicion in there from where we were standing. Then we were shown the office, where are classes were, and the library. We didn’t really see anything to be concerned about but it was only the first day. As we were walking back to the dorm I saw her.

Chapter 2

 The same girl I saw when we first got there. She had on tight dark blue jeans, a tank top, a blue flannel, and a smile I’ll never forget. She was a few yards away on the other side of the fountain in the sculpture garden. So I stopped and I asked Brad “Brad who is that girl over there”? Pointing over to her. “Oh, that right there is Grace Nealson” he said with a smile. “Why don’t you go talk to her”? “Why would I want to talk to her” I asked. Right when I said that they all turned and looked at me. I knew that I gave away that I did want to because I’m a horrible liar and my face suddenly turned bright red. I wanted to go talk to her so bad but I was so scared. So I lied and said I can’t because I still have things to do in the dorm so we left it at that and went back to the dorm. That night she was all I could think about and there was no way I was going to be able to go to sleep. I had never felt this way about anyone before. Then I remembered we were here for one reason; to find the drug dealer. Plus I was scared to talk to her so I just forgot about it and went to sleep.

Chapter 3

Screaming, John says, “Wake your butt up Ralph todays a big day. We have to go to our classes” while spraying me with cold water from a spray bottle and getting my thick brown hair soaked but suddenly his voice changes to a whisper and he says  “also we got to find the drug dealer”. So I got up and put on what looked like casual college guy clothes. “Knock knock knock” I opened the door and there were the twins standing there. “What’s up guys” I said tiredly. “We were just about to head to breakfast and were wondering if y’all wanted to come”. “OF COURSE” John yelled with a growling stomach under his chest. “I guess I’m in too” I said. So we headed towards the lunch room and I saw someone with a wad of cash in his hand and he looked suspicious. “Hey guys I’ll meet you at the lunch room. I need to go to the restroom” I said and turned around and walked the other way without waiting for a response. “Looks like a lot of cash you got there”. “Oh, yea you scared me”. In a friendly voice I said, “Sorry, well I’m Ralph”. “I’m Noah, n..ni…  nice to meet you” he tried to say but was frightened. “Why do you have all that cash”? “Oh ummm I need it to pay for my package” he said in a low voice.  “Ok well I guess I’ll talk to you later Noah. Have fun with your package” knowing there was something that wasn’t quite right about him. When I got to breakfast I found the guys and sat with them, we ate breakfast real quick because we only had five minutes. It’s what we get for waking up late though.

Chapter 4

As I walked into my first class of the day I had the worst but best

Thing happened, I had to sit next to Grace. The professor introduced me when I first got there. “Ladies and gentlemen calm it down, we have a new student today. His name is Ralph Williams. Ralph go sit next to her, Grace raise your hand please”. So I went and sat next to her. She was staring at me and when I saw my face suddenly turned bright red like a tomato. The problem is that I don’t know why I’m so scared. “Hi I’m Grace” she said looking over at me. Nervously I answered, “Hi I’m Ralph. Nice to meet you”. I looked at her and she was the most beautiful person I had ever seen. She had long brown hair and dark brown eyes you could get lost in, and a smile that made me want to smile back. We talked for a little while and I started to get more comfortable around her. The rest of the day I found out that we actually have almost every class together except that she is in marching band and I wasn’t.

Chapter 5

When I got back together with John at the end of the day he said that he had figured a few things out. “Hey Ralph I found out a few things. I found out where lomon-27 is sold at around campus. What did you find”? “Oh nothing yet” I told him not saying anything about the guy I had seen before breakfast because I wasn’t sure if he was buying drugs or not. “Since you know where there selling it John then let’s go there”. “Alright let’s go” he said pumped up. We walked down to an old janitors closet and walked in. I turned the lights on and the whole place was empty. “John I thought you said this was the place”. I was angry because it was empty. “This is the place they told me, I guess they were just a bunch of liars”. “Wait, who were these people that told you”? I asked. “Just some geeks I guess”. Wait, the guy I saw this morning was geeky looking. “Just keep a look out for them since there in your classes” I told him. When we got back to our dorm I got out my phone and then I forgot, I didn’t get Graces number. “COME ON” I said loudly and fell back onto my bed. “What’s wrong Ralph” asked john like he was concerned. “That girl Grace is in my classes and I talked to her but didn’t get her number”. Now sounding like he doesn’t care John says, “Just get it tomorrow”. “Whatever John I’m going to sleep”. “Whatever I’m going out with the twins”. “Good luck with that” I said.

Chapter 6

          Right when he left I was up. I was going to find where that girl is staying, no matter how long it takes. I know she’s on this campus somewhere. I got dressed and left. I know there’s a map somewhere that tells who is in what dorm. Oh right it’s in the hallway between the library door and the front office. I race down the hallway and finally I get to it. “Grace where are you. Grace, Grace, Grace”. I couldn’t find her name. Oh wait never mind she is in building four, dorm two hundred fifteen. Finally I get to her dorm. “Knock knock”. No one answered the door so I try again. “Knock knock knock”. The door opens and grace is standing there undressed rapped in a blanket. “Oh um hi Ralph do you need something.” “Can I tell you something” I said more nervous than I’ve ever been. “Sure Ralph what is it”? I step closer to her, “I know we just met and stuff but….”. “But what ralph”? Then before I even knew what I was doing I kissed her. Right when I kissed her. She waited a few seconds and then pushed me away. “Ralph what are you doing” she said looking into my eyes. “Baby is there something wrong over there” said some voice in her room. “No babe hold on, I’m sorry Ralph, I have a boyfriend” and closed the door on me. From the way she was dressed which was just a blanket, I knew they were doing something in there.

Chapter 7

          When I got back to my dorm I couldn’t stop being so mad at myself. “I’m such an idiot, why would I even try to kiss her. I didn’t even ask if she had a boyfriend, plus I just met her. Just…… I’m so stupid”. I couldn’t bare thinking about it any longer so I put on my headphones. Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey came on which is my favorite song of all time. It took my mind off of Grace and I went to sleep. “Wake up bro” said john shaking me like crazy “some else has been killed”. As soon as I heard that I was up.
