He noticed me checking him out and he smirked.

I raised my brows. A Domeabrean should not be close to an Abor or else blood will flow. That was the rule in my town.
"You know you should not be here. This is Abor land"

"This is a no man land", he said and moved forward. The monute he took a step forward, I moved backwards. He smirked at that.
"Your guards do not guard this place. Same as the guards of my town. So i choose where I go"

"Well, then stay away from here. This is my spot"
"No, you've forgotten my words so soon. I said i choose where i want to go and it's here i choose"

"Then stay away from me"
He smirked again and nodded.

I stared and continued with what i was doing; thinking.
I was so lost in the thoughts of my problems that i had forgotten there was someone also here with me until he tapped me.

"What?!", i turned to him, " i thought i asked you to stay away from me. Please do so"

"I'm allergic to silence. So i wanted to get to know you", he stretched his hand toward my direction, "I'm Adjekum"

I stared at his stretched hand with uncertainty. He was an enemy, a rival of my people for God's sake.

"You know we are enemies, right? And we shouldn't be talking. Abor and Domeabra cannot be friends"

He laughed loudly that i wanted to know what i had said that was funny.
"Abor and Domeabra are enemies?!", he said and laughed some more, " have you ever asked yourself why we are enemies? Because i am sure you do not know why but you are just following tradition"

"My father told me our hatred goes way back and the real reason has not been found. His father did not tell him until he ascended the throne and he is not telling me too mainly because i am a female"

"Ohemaa Pokuaa Osaebea"
"How do you know my name? Who are you?", i asked my hand searching for my pocket knife again.

"Who has not heard about the daughter of the king of Abor? Beautiful but has a tongue filled with venom. She takes part in wars instead of being dolled up. She rejects proposals from even the most respectable kings. She is brave and is not afraid to talk her mind. They call her a leopard, a lioness. I know all about you, Princess"

"I didn't know i was known", i said with pride in my voice. It felt good to be known like this.

"Not to make you more prideful but my father admires you. He sees you as the daughter he never had. Unlike your town, my town believes in making the voices of women heard"

"Your name again?", i asked. He seemed intelligent, someone i could share my ideas with.

"Let me properly introduce myself, Princess. My name is Oheneba Kofi Owusu-Adjekum"

I gasped. I could not believe the prince of Domeabra was standing in front of me.
Even though his appearance was not presentable, he looked really handsome.

It wouldn't hurt getting close to him, right?!
