-Note from writer- There's a lot of references here that are hard to get unless you like in the uk so I'll be placing a "*" after every reference or cultural difference that I will explain at the bottom of every chapter!
I trudge down the halls, music blasting through my ears as I scan my surroundings for people I don't like to give the necessary side-eye to.
That made me sound like a major bitch but don't worry I only do that to the deserving -the skinny, basic white girls thinking that doing TikTok dances in the halls makes them cool. Like please grow tf up. You are fifteen; like Jesus put your cameras down and close down your secret Charli D'amelio fan accounts. Like I don't care how many boys you've sucked off or how plastered you get at parties, if you're doing TikTok dances unironically in bloody year ten* you have the maturity of a five year old in my eyes.
As you can probably guess I'm not the most popular girl but whatever, like I care about what these future Love Island* contestants and Jeremy Kyle* show guests have to think about me. So why not show them what I really think about them, anyways, it's not as if I can sink further down the social hierarchy in school and I have no intention of moving up it and joining those girls to throw up together so they can stay a size 2 while bitching about strangers.
I'm counting down the days until I finish sixth form* and get out of here so my life can actually begin and I can get away from these mouth breathers who will have peaked in secondary school.
I turn a corner and cross paths with Mackenzie Aimsley. Kenzie is infamous at this school for being one of those "I'm not like other girls" types. She is idolised here. No joke. People literally talk about her like she's some kinda god. Just because she doesn't act like a complete psycho bitch people be thinking she's all that. However, I seem to be the only one who's not oblivious to her fake little cool girl image she's got going on. You see, Kenzie isn't friends with girls, only guys which should be pretty obvious in itself. She claims it's because girls are too much drama and dudes are chill but I know what she's trying to do. The minute she got to this school the manipulative little skank had an entire plan formed in her mind about how she was going to climb to the top. Now, most girls would think that to get to the top of the social ladder you have to either establish your dominance with the other girls and if that fails, you befriend the queen bee and stab her in the back at some point so she looses status. However, the real way is boys.
Teenage straight girls only ever think about them and when that boy's attention is on another girl you get jealous, and when you get jealous you envy them and that envy turns to an obsession to the point that girl becomes a godlike figure; someone to aspire to be like. Exactly like our own sneaky Kenzie. The girl is smart- I'll give her that.
Now Kenzie isn't anything special. She is like every other girl. Even though she tries so hard not to. She is.
Why is she? You may ask, well she is lucky, because not everyone can do what she does. Kenzie is pretty enough that she doesn't have to wear makeup. Has a body type that looks good in joggers and hoodies and can eat whatever the hell she wants and she still stays thin as a pin. Now, when I do what she does I don't get the same results because I'm not pretty without makeup, when I eat things it sure as hell shows up on me the next day and I do not have the right body to look good in clothes, let alone baggy shit that'll accentuate my size. Now girls like me who aren't, as I like to call, the right kind of different have to put effort into our appearance, watch what we eat- all common things done by most people because the society we live in values physical appearance over what kind of a person you are. But Ya'll aren't really for that conversation. So when a girl who can get away with these things she likes to think she's special and therefore better than everyone else so she drags her fellow women down in order to raise herself up.
Now let's get into why the boys love her. We've established she's hot which is a pretty big bonus for her but there are other hot girls, so what really puts her over the edge is she's 'one of the guys'. She's cool and understands him, she's laid back and respects his space, she's like his best friend as well as girlfriend. She can be goofy and I'd bet my first born child that she's a gamer girl. In other words, she's perfect.
Onto my last point, how do I know its all a facade? That she isn't just like this naturally and I'm not just reading into it. Because she's too perfect. All her so called "flaws" just feed into her perfectly crafted image. She uses quirks like being clumsy to appear just cute enough the boys get a soft spot for her but not enough so she seems like those 'uWu ' girls that seem to be everywhere nowadays. She must have some hole inside that's eating her up because she's living a lie. This girl doesn't exist. Theres some broken shell of a girl inside her that she's desperately trying to shut up before her cover is blown. I honestly don't see how she has not had a breakdown yet, but you know what, I'd love to have front row tickets for when it finally happens so I can yell I told you so like an obnoxious wanker*.
I watch as she holds onto the boy next to her's arm as she doubles up with laughter at some joke, eyes all scrunched up as she opens her mouth to display her pearly whites while the two guys stood either side of her practically swoon in admiration.
I see you Kenzie, I see what you're doing. You're not fooling me.
Hang on, I think. Why aren't I saying all this to her face? I've got nothing to loose and I'm tired of this fake persona I have to see every day. I wanna see the look on her face as she tries to cover up the fact she's been busted.
"HEY, AIMSLEY"
-Ok that was the first chapter of my new story. Hopefully I'll actually update this and not end up abandoning it for the next four months before deleting it!
Seriously tho if you do read this and like to see more I'd appreciate a little comment or something so much, it honestly makes it worth it and helps motivate me so much if I knew this was being liked by some of you guys!
1. Year 10- 14-15 years/9th grade
2.Love Island- A reality tv show where trashy people go to shag to win 50K and some brand deals with teeth whitener and skinny tea brands. I believe there was an American and Australian version of this show but those weren't as trashy as the UK one
3. Jeremy Kyle- A talk show where Chavs (look it up on urban dictionary I cba to explain that one) go to argue about their shocking relationships. Yes I know it was cancelled but let's just forget about it
4. Sixth Form- In the UK after you have done your GCSEs in year 11 you have the choice to continue learning fewer subjects in greater depth in preparation for university in sixth form- ages 16-18.
5. Wanker- To wank means to masturbate but a wanker just means an annoying person.
