A hero's vigilante

Chapter 14

The Maxwell family minus Scott were working hard in the cafe, now that they were a man short it became difficult to mange on their own. Eraserhead went to go visit them only to see them serving people like headless chickens.

Rachel didn't even say hi to him when she passed him. He went to the kitchen to see Elizabeth cooking and baking, at the same time. Elizabeth noticed him and said. "Aizawa! Hi! Do you need anything?" "I came for y'all's patrol records, do you know where it is?" "Oh! I completely forgot! Sorry Aizawa we've been busy!" Eraser opened the door slightly and saw Rachel and Jade taking people's orders and giving them their orders. "I can see that. Do you need any help?" "Can you cook?" "No, but I can help with anything you need. I'm off duty now." "Oh you shouldn't waist your day off helping us. We're fine!"

Eraserhead raised an eyebrow while leaning against the wall next to the door with his arms closed and said. "Uh-Huh." Then all of a sudden the door slammed opened crushing him. "MOOOOOM!!!!!! When will that old man you call a husband get back on his trip!?!" "I don't know honey, he said that the rumor lead him to China and I haven't heard from him since!" "If I find out that he was doing nothing but laze around I'm going to kick his ass!!!!" Jade stormed off to take people's orders, when the door closed Shota had a bruise on his forehead with his eyes closed.

He opened his eyes and looked at Elizabeth with a unconvinced look. He raised his finger and opened his mouth to saw something when the door opened again to reveal Rachel. "Mom is it okay for us to close early? Because Jade is about to lose it." "Don't need help, huh?" Rachel got startled when she heard a muffled voice behind the door. She opened it to her boyfriend behind the door with bruises on his face. "Sho! When did you get here?" "I was here for 10 minutes." "Oh."

"Sorry hon but I don't think that's going to happen." "Why?" "Because there's a line." "Oh. What are we going to do?" Rachel then looked at Eraser who was still leaning against the wall with his eyes closed and arms crossed, when he felt Rachel's gaze one him he opened one eye and looked at her asking. "What?" Then he was dragged to the penthouse by his girlfriend. "Your helping us!" "Wait Rachel! What am I going to wear?!" "Rachel!"

But no one was able to stop her from dragging the poor man to change into the uniform. After awhile Rachel dragged him back to the kitchen, where he was wearing the uniform. Rachel had a blush on her cheeks and so did Shota. "What happened?" They immediately shook their heads not wanting to talk about it. "Oooookay, well I have allot of orders for all of you." They immediately went to work.

Before they went outside Present Mic and Midnight were at the door waiting to be seated while listening to Jade threatening to murder her father, then Rachel and Shota came out with the orders. Midnight and Present Mics jaws dropped seeing Shota in the uniform that wasn't his hero costume. They started holding in their laughter because they didn't want Shota to kill them. They were taking orders from costumers and serving them, by the end of the day they were done and they were chilling in the cafe now closed waiting on Shota and Rachel for the vigilante family patrols for information of the drug trafficking of the now named drug, La Timberwolf. Apparently the man selling it calls him that and he has a accent that sounded French.

Then they came back with the chip and Shota in his clothes but their blushes never left them. They were all wondering what happened but when they asked they just got silence from them. The hero's got the chip and talked about how the police are taking their vigilantism.

Midnight: "The police are asking around for information about all of you, they're really determined to put you in prison but some of them don't because of all the good your doing."

Jade: "Sorry that we're doing your jobs police but we're stopping them wether you like it or not!"

Elizabeth: "Jade honey calm down, the police aren't doing it because they want to but because they have to. We knew we would have to be careful with the police."

Present Mic: "I wouldn't worry about it! All you guys need to do is not use your quirks so much then your in clear!"

Eraserhead: "It's not that simple Mic, working outside the law is a crime. Even though their good guys their considered villains."

Rachel: "We were considering being heroes but with dad's temper, moms sensitivity, Jades rebellious personality and me, well I missed an exam to get in U.A."

Shota looked at her, his eyes widened a little. 'That's it! Proof that she was the girl that day.' His thoughts were interrupted when Midnight said. "You wanted to go to U.A? Me, Mic and Aizawa went to U.A." Rachel's eyes sparkled with glee and said. "What was it like!?" Present Mic answered her. "Hard. Hey if you wanted to go to U.A then that means-." He didn't finish his thought when he saw Eraser glaring at him while sliding his finger across his throat. "Means you could have met me and Shota!" He said quickly with sweat dropping down his face.

Rachel looked at him with a question look but said nothing else. The three pros got the chip and left right when they were out of sight Present Mic and Midnight yelled. "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU ERASER!?!?!?!?!?!" Present Mic yelled right in erasers ear resulting him in rubbing it. "If your going to yell don't do it in my ear!" He said glaring at them then he sighed and said. "I tried telling her but I kept getting interrupted." They looked at him sympathetic knowing full well that he sept five years trying to find the girl that gave him the courage to continue living.

Now that he found her, he's having trouble telling her the truth. They went their separate ways and went home, when eraser got home he took a shower and got into his pajamas. He laid on his bed under the covers, thinking. 'I want to tell Rachel but I keep getting interrupted, don't worry Rachel I will tell you I promise.' Then he went to sleep.

For the next two weeks Shota has been helping around the cafe on his days off to help, until Scott got back. He was currently sitting on a stool near the bar drinking coffee while Rachel, Jade and Elizabeth worked. He looked at Rachel and asked. "You sure you don't need help?" "We're fine, you can help if it gets crowded." "Kay." "You don't have to help for much longer Eraserhead." They all snapped their heads around so fast and who they saw was.....

A bearded and shaggy Scott Maxwell stood by the door with a smile and soft eyes. Rachel, Jade and Shota smiled in delight while Elizabeth put her hands on her mouth to stop a sob coming out while tears went down her face. Scott looked at Elizabeth and smirked while saying. "Don't cry Beth, you look ugly when you cry." Elizabeth ran to Scott and hugged him tight while crying tears of joy. "You home!!" "Welcome back Scott." "Welcome home daddy!" "Welcome back dad and shave off that beard."

Scott chuckled at his eldest daughter but couldn't stop smiling, he was home, at last.

Little bonus

Rachel had dragged Shota to the penthouse and closed the curtain for privacy. She grabbed the uniform and handed it to him, but forgot that he was taking off his clothes. When she opened the curtain they looked at each other wide eyed. Rachel couldn't but stare at his torso, he was so toned and had some scars on his body.

Then she realized that she was staring she immediately apologized and went outside the house. She leaned on the wall and slide down while covering her face. 'I'm so embarrassed! He probably thinks I'm creep now!' Then she gets a flashback of the scar on his side, it looked like a knife went across it. She shook it off when the door opened to Reveal Shota in the uniform, he was looking away from her while rubbing the back of his neck with a blush on his face.

She stood up and was about to apologize when she felt his lips on hers. She kissed back while putting her hands on his neck and while he put his hands on his cheek. When they separated, Shota looked at her with love in his eyes and a smile. He rubbed her cheek with his thumb, their noses were touching. "Don't apologize so much." And gave her a kiss, then they went to work so that Jade wouldn't kill someone. More specifically Scott.

Hey. So sorry for the long wait, I had writers block. So, yeah Scott's back and Rachel saw the scar on Shota's side from when he was a teen. But that just gets him one step closer to telling her truth. Bye.
