3. On Terms With Critical Conditions

Arthur's POV

Christian and I have been trying to find out why he did this. He's never really been this depressed. I haven't seen him this depressed since Duke saved him back when Tristan was a child.

I'm afraid that we need to talk to Duke. But he cannot leave this bed. "So what do you suggest doc," Christian asks.

"I need him on bed rest, he is not allowed to leave this bed until full recovery and when his blood cells start flowing again."

"Is he still going to be alive?"

"Yes. He's immortal. He can't die, especially without seeing Dannie."

He sighed. "What do I have to do on my part?"

"I need you to stay here and keep and eye on Tristan in case if he needs anything," I got up and started to walk downstairs.

But before I left the room, Christian stopped me with my wrist. "Where are you going," he said tightening his grip on my wrist.

"The wrist grip won't work on me and you know that. I'll be right back."

He let go and I went downstairs finding a sleeping Alexia on the couch. I got my jacket and headed out the door.

I'm afraid that if this gets more critical than we might to take him to an actual hospital, that'll probably lead the humans to finding out about us magic folk.

If that even happens I suppose. I'm afraid that the government will hunt us down for experiments which I don't want that to happen.

I called Duke with the wand and he finally answered on the 3rd call.

"Hey Arthur," he said with his husky voice.

"Hey. Do you know what happened to Tristan?"

"No, what happened?"

"Alexia found Tristan on the floor of the bathroom with a pool of blood under him. I want to know if you said anything to him about anything that happened?"

"Yeah I did say something to him. I told him that I was the one that caused Dannie to get taken away."

"You did what?!"

"Yeah."

On the inside I was about to burst into flames. "You idiot," I said.

"What?"

"You know Tristan doesn't do well when we say something about Dannie! You caused him to be in so much pain!"

"How the hell am I suppose to know that Tristan was going to kill himself!"

"You knew Tristan and Dannie loved each other! Why did you even say that to him?!"

"I had no choice but to tell the truth, ok!"

"You didn't have a choice! You chose to do it! No one force you!" I hung up on him after that.

I sighed and kicked a rock that was closest to me. Why would Duke tell him that this happened? He knows that Tristan and Dannie are like Soul Mates.

Has Duke changed since he disappeared?
