Clay hated the feeling of being sick.
he felt helpless, weak.
that's why he never asked for help.
he didn't need others help.
it made him feel helpless.

so when he got a deadly disease, he didn't tell anyone. he didn't tell George or Nick he was in the hospital. he didn't tell anyone that they could lose him at any moment.

his fans, and his friends, however, noticed the difference.
he uploaded way less. his voice sounded weaker. he sounded tired constantly.
he knew they noticed.
but he still didn't tell anyone what was happening.

that was, until he was told he had 3 months to live at most.

he decided to tell the people he cared about the most, but obviously not the general public.

dream:
hey gogy, I love you. please don't miss me when I'm gone, I don't deserve it. I hid too much from you to deserve it.

(POV switch)

George was confused. Why was dream apologizing? more importantly, what things was he hiding? of course, as anyone would do he asked.

georgie:
what??? what do you mean hiding??

he waited for the response, and after 15 minutes of staring at the screen, he got a reply.

dream:
you'll see in 3 months. all you should know is I won't be around much longer. I don't want you to be worried, that's why I'm hiding it. I love you. 💚

(time skip: 7 months later)

people were assuming the three were never coming back. it had been 7 months. completely radio silent on every social media platform. but, after months, George and Sapnap broke that silence.

sorry its been so long. we just wanted to update you guys. dream is gone for good. he died of unknown causes 4 months ago. before he went silent he messaged me one last time. He wouldn't talk to me, nick, or even his mother after that.

but honestly? George didn't care. he was mad he didn't ever get a chance to say "I love you" to dream.
he wanted to, he really did love dream and had always wanted more than being "best friends"
but he was scared.
scared of what had just happened occurring.
losing someone.
losing someone that finally loved him back.
so he never did say those 3 words.
and now he'd never get the chance.

he'd always been depressed, and cut himself when he was younger.
but once he found out dream was gone, he relapsed.
he entire body littered with bloody scars.
at least 5 razorblades scattered across his room.
he hadn't eaten in days.
he was a mess.

so, he decided that without his one source of comfort and happiness.
he couldnt live.

he killed himself.

he overdosed on sleeping pills and antidepressants.

even more bad news for the fans.

sapnap? left alone, he picked up drinking and ruined his life, for lack of better terms. soon, he was found dead, beat up on the side of the road, bottle in his hand.

they were all gone.

so many deaths.
