                                                   tw // death (?) , blood

There Amity fell, down on her hands and knees staring at the floor below her. Her body had gone limp. She was barely holding herself from falling completely to the floor. The emperor had taken away all of her magical power, leaving Amity helpless. Her body became weak and tears started to stream down her face. Her body felt so frail now. She felt cold; empty. At first the only thing she could manage was a pathetic whine, then a series of chokes and coughs came in between. She slowly curled herself into a ball in an attempt to feel the warmth that had been stolen from her.

Luz stood behind her, shock and fear building up inside. She had no idea what the emperor had done but she knew it was terrible. "I got you. It's gonna be okay, you're gonna be fine!" Her voice was shaky, now hugging the other close to her chest. Amity's cries bounced off the walls in the corridor and into her own ears. Luz could feel her heart drop. All she could do was watch- watch as her dearest friend screamed in agony and begged for help.

Luz had sent owlbert to distract the emperor in an attempt to give herself more time. She needed to get Amity away from here. She glanced over to where owlbert was supposed to be, only to find the emperor had a hold over him. The wooden owl now looked dull, she gasped. Emperor Belos had drunk all the palisman's magic. She watched him throw the hollow object to the floor, now slowly making his way over to them. With a lift of his finger, Belos summoned two large vines that raised Luz into the air, choking her in the process. She struggled, clawing at the vines with as much force as she could give.

By this time, Belos stood over Amity, his large shadow looming over her limp body. He grabbed Amity's collar, picking her up and showing her to Luz who was still struggling to break free. Luz stared in horror at the sight. The light of Amity's eyes had long faded, yet her body still continued to act. Blood was spilling out from her mouth and chest where her gem once rested, now it laid shattered on the floor. Amity's eyes slowly wandered from the floor where she previously lay, all the way up to Luz who met her gaze. Despite it all, Amity managed a small smile.

Luz could swear she heard Amity call out to her. It was faint but it was there. "Don't close your eyes, Amity! Please, Don't close your eyes!" The last she ever saw was Amity mouthing something with a smile. Through her own tear soaked eyes Luz watched as Amity took her final breath. Luz let out an ear bleeding shriek. She was gone.
