Not so good of a start

The view looked so breathtaking that evening. I was sitting on a cars hood with my friends, Alyssa and Scarlet on August 11th, year !&?-#. The sky started to twinkle with small and big flashes of light. Meteor shower had started. With a twinkle in my eye, i took my camera out and started taking shots of the colours. "Beautiful" i heard Scarlet breath out. When i looked at her direction, my breath hitched. She was smiling wide, teeth and eyes shimmering in the light. I felt at ease and honoured to see her smiling. The moment was calming, but it halted when i looked to the far side of the shower. A lonely meteor stood out of the other ones, it was changing between silver and green, unlike the other ones flashing white, blue, red and orange. It was coming closer in a more vertical angle. I tapped Alyssa on the shoulder and pointed at the meteor.

Alyssa drove with Scarlet sitting on the co-drivers seat and i sat in the backseat, without a seatbelt like a total moron. "What if the meteor hits us? What if it destroys the town and kills everyone inside it?" i thought, sweating and anxious. "Hey," i heard Scarlet say as she poked on my forehead, "stop worrying, everything's alright.". How can someone be so calm- "BRAKE! BRAKE!" she shouted ,noticing the moose on the road.

Time slowed down. I heard the screams of Scarlet and Alyssa as the force of the car halting in its tracks made me fly from between them, through the windshield to the hood of the car. I lay, eyes wide, adrenaline pumping in my blood as my heart beats fast and I see blood gushing on top of the car. I heard the girls yell, but I was in too bad of a shock to respond. Then everything went dark.

I woke up to indescribable pain. Opening my eyes, all i saw was darkness until my eys adjusted themselves and i saw the roof of the car. I felt someone hold my hand. I turned my head toward the owner of the hand and saw Scarlet's sleeping face, leaning against one of the car seats. Smiling I managed to get up, while hissing bloody murder, to sit. I shook Scarlet's shoulder, hoping she would wake up. She snapped awake and began to rub her eyes. When she finished waking from her nap, she glanced at me, squealed and jumped to hug me, but stopped when she heard my inhale of discomfort and pain, and began to apologize profusely.

I cracked a smile and signed to her that she's forgiven. "Where's Alyssa?" I signed as I looked out the car window. "She set out to find out if there was any place to call his father to fetch us from here," she told and shifted in her place, to be more comfortable. "You have wounds on your head and even on your back. You might still have shards of glass in your arms that we couldn't get out with the cars first aid kit," she added. "do you have a mirror?" I asked. "What? - ah of course, here." she rummaged her bag and gave me it. I had a lot of small wounds, bruises and bandages on my face. There was gauze around my head, black hair peaking from under it. I grimaced and saw my slightly bloody teeth. I looked absolutely awful. "Alyssa mustn't have gone far, but-" "Well I can't leave you kids here alone sitting just grimacing at their mirror image," Alyssa laughed as she trotted to the car. Her smile faded as she glanced at the phone. "I couldn't find any internet nearby, so I think we have to walk closer to the main road," she sighed. I lowered my head and yawned, leaning on Scarlet. "Let's leave when the sun starts to rise, Hashim clearly can't stand and we can never know what we can run into in the woods in the middle of the night," she said, rubbing the back of her neck. And with that we made beds in the cars backseat and trunk.

'SNAP!' I opened my eyes frightened, jumped to sit and, 'BAM!' I hit my head on the roof of the car. I wailed without a sound, my eyes wide and tears flowing down my cheeks. The pain had subsided enough for me to move so, I got out of the car with a flashlight I found in the glove compartment of the car. "What was that?" I wondered as I looked around. I glanced at the car and like in every clishe horror movie, went to investigate. Time went by, propably an hour. I didn't plan to go far, but when I looked back I could no longer see the car, just the dense forest.
