Ahead of me, I catch sight of those white, fluffy locks. His back was always facing me and I slowly got sick of it. Rarely I would get a glimpse of his discolored emerald eyes, and that small smile that would last throughout the class. He would be writing notes, looking out the window, or tapping his pale hand on the table. It wasn't annoying anyone, because his movements were so silent. Nagito Komaeda, Ultimate Lucky Student sat right in front of me.

But on some occasions, I wish he would face me for a few minutes.
This morning, Nagito strolled inside with a few backpacks that belonged to other students. "Good morning!" he announced with a smile. Before anyone could answer, he turned to Mikan and held up one of the bags. "This must be yours, right?" he said. Mikan sprung up out of her chair and began apologizing to the lucky student, and then.
CLANK!

I foresaw what would happen when I opened my eyes, and my prediction was right. Mikan was scrambled into a cooperative position, papers scattered beside her body. Her water bottle had dropped and soaked her uniform along with her papers, her legs hoisted up towards Nagito. Then screaming her signature, "I'm sorry!" Sonia, Akane, Nekomaru, and Chiaki rushes to her aid. In the corner of my eye, I could see TeruTeru with a trickle of blood going down his nose,
"Fucking perv." I thought.
I could hear Nagito's voice even though the talk of apology and forgiveness Mikan as blabbered.
"Mikan, I'm going to get some paper towels, okay?"
She sloppily nodded before he left the room.
Peko and I stared at the "helpless" Mikan.

This class is a nightmare.
—————————————————————

After school, I asked Peko if she wanted anything to eat considering she doesn't eat much, in and out of school. She shook her head in denial before asking me if I wanted anything. Peko is an important figure in my life, and only if she would I know I care about her, more than just an object or a tool, but she just can't see that. Blinded by her objective, to protect me. Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu, Ultimate Gang Leader.

The pavement clicked beneath our heels as we talked about the reserve course, things that happened outside of class, and so on. Most of it was awkward bits of our day, but that connection is what made us inseparable. Ibuki had claimed we acted like "an old couple", despite the fact that we act like best friends. Well, that's at least what I think. The sky was smothered in pinks, blues, and pastel yellows, filling up the sky like a painting. We stopped at a turning point, Peko turning at me before saying, "I'm going back now, Master. Are you coming with me?"
I sucked my teeth before declining the offer. "I'm gonna go and find Kazuichi, " I mumbled. "He's probably embarrassing himself in front of Ms. Sonia, catch you later Peko, " was the last thing I said before waving and walking our separate ways.

"Now where's that bastard.." I scoffed.

Hope is something extraordinary. Something that could fill the world with happiness, but as time flies by like a paper bag in the wind. Despair is also there, lurking like a cat behind its helpless prey before pouncing and killing its hope instantly. But not all is lost, is it? Hope will regrow its barrier. So will despair, and their balance brings us what we have today. It sickens me.

Before turning the corner, I and Fuyuhiko lock eyes for a brief second. He kept walking, while my body forced itself to stop and look back at the blonde boy. "Hello, Kuzuryu, " I greeted.
He turned back while leaning his back a little, keeping his passive-aggressive ambiance. "Oi, " he responded. "What are you up to?"
"I'm strolling around, I have nothing to do anyway." fixing my posture while replying.
He moved his hand in a lazy flopping motion, not keeping eye contact with me. I would understand why though, my face probably blinds the students.  Before I could think any further, he asked,
"I'm going out to eat something with Kazuichi, wanna come?"
Did he just invite me to eat with him?
Me?
My face must've been beaming because the short boy looked back at me before his cheeks we're dusted in light pink. "D-don't smile like that dumbass, " he blurted. I quickly bowed. "S-sorry!" I spat. "Whatever, come on before I leave ya', " he continued walking, this time not looking back. I quickly ran after him, clutching my satchel in hand.

The outside café was nearly deserted when Fuyuhiko and I wandered in through the fence. The wind brushed against our ears, making us shudder.
"Fuck, " he spat.
"Are you alright?" I asked, tipping my head.
"I'm fine, just go sit somewhere dumbass."
"Are you really gonna let me pick?"
"Might as well before your eyes will be at the back of your head, " he growled.
I quickly jumped and ran over to the tables to find a seat. Most of them were covered in leftover fries and milkshake residue, but I eventually found one with decent quality to eat on. "Over here, " I waved at the blonde boy before trudging his way over. His eyes were closed as if in deep thought.
We placed our bags at the table. Fuyuhiko propped his leg up on the table, crossing his arms lazily. I sat properly. After a few minutes of silence, the gangster speaks with a sigh.
"Dammit, that bastard should be here by now."
"Maybe he got caught up with Ms. Sonia?" I responded, nearly spitting out the thought.
He scoffs.
"You know, " he gives a smirk. "Maybe you're right Komaeda. No, not maybe, you might be absolutely correct."
I felt pounding near my chest as a choked up a laugh. His expression was nearly concerning. "Dude, do you need a fucking cough drop or something? You always sound so sick."
"You care..?" I whispered.  Those light pink dusted cheeks returned as the gangster sat in overwhelming silence.
"Komaeda--"
"Yo! It's been it a bit Fuyuhik-"
We turned to see Kazuichi Souda, Ultimate Mechanic, almost stopping mid-sentence as his head seemed to turn pale when he glanced at me. "What is he doing here?" he said aloud, not even afraid to show his fear towards me. I stood,
"Ah, I apologize for coming on such short notice, I'll be on my way, " grabbing my bag.

Before anyone could answer, I left.
