Rowen.

She makes me so happy. The way she laughs at my jokes, the smile that is always there and always genuine, the way she dances around instead walking. How she turns any day into something to remember. I can't even put it into words how much she helps when I can't even think. I smile just thinking about her walking in, all bright and colorful. She means the world to me, I don't think I would be here without her moving in.

If only she knew how I felt. ___________________________

The smell of something cooking wafted into my cracked door, waking me up. Never thought I would wake up in the morning. Groggily, I push myself up and head to the kitchen, to find Rowen, my roommate, cooking.

"Gooodd morning, Eden. How ja sleep last night?" she said with a smile on her face. I don't know how she's so awake right now.

I spoke as I stretched, "That felt like the most I've ever slept in the past two years, so good I guess."

She bounced on her toes and brought her hands to her chest. "Wonderful!"

I chuckled lightly at her little dance. "Why are you so happy, Care Bear?" I said, snatching some bacon from the plate.

"Well, the adoption center called me back today and..."

"And what?"

"Annd I passed the paperwork! I got the cat!" she say excitedly.

She's been on that list for 3 weeks, that's impressive. "Holy shit, we're getting a cat! That's awesome. What's her name?"

"I can't decide between Freddie or Peanut Butter," she said, with a serious face.

"Go for Freddie, then we can fuck around with visitors by talking about her, they'll think she's human." A devious grin formed across out faces.

"Freddie it is! Now can you pleaseee take me shopping for stuff? We never do things together," she pouted.

I faked being annoyed, huffing and groaning. "Fine, for you." In reality, I really wanted to do more stuff with her. It made me feel something.

"Great, get dress, shove a pancake down you hole and let's go!"

We laughed together, parting our ways.

3 hours later, we come back with a wide select of toys, "designer" pet bowls, and a big ass cat tree for itty bitty Freddie.

"Fucking hell, my feet hurt," I moaned.

"Sorry for dragging you around for so long, but now we're prepared to take on caring for another being," she beamed. I can never get mad at her when she smiles.

I smiled back, and went to my room, or "the prison cell", as Rowen calls it, to lie down. I have to admit, she isn't wrong. The blank walls, the worn furniture, and all the grey make it look dingy. I didn't care to decorate, thinking I would move soon. That was a year and a half ago, but I don't want to jinx it.

I go to flop down on my bed finally ready to relax.

*crack*

*Thud*

I don't know what happened, but I'm way lower than where I should be. I hear Rowen running and swinging open my door. "Oh my gosh! Eden, are you okay?" she gasped.

I grunted, "yeah, I'm fine. I don't think my bed is though."

She pulls me up with ease (did I forget to mention she's strong? Because she's strong and I love it.) and I look at the damage. One of the support beams snapped in half when I fell, letting the bed sag. "Oh shit, that's pretty broken," She said. Well no shit.
