"Please know . ." Elijah began "you are welcome at the Mikaelson Compound whenever you wish. I believe Niklaus has taken a liking to you"
"Because I'm the only one who truly understands his art" Morgan replied, a small smile on her lips "his words, not mine. I also fail to see why everyone is so afraid of you" glancing up at him
"You do not fear us?" his eyebrows furrowing slightly
"None of you have giving me any reason for fear" she shrugged "granted, Rebekah wanted to taste my blood, you nearly drained me, Klaus threatened me and held me against a wall. And yet, I am not afraid. Maybe it's because I can see the good in those who portray themselves as bad"
Klaus couldn't help but listen in, resting his head against the wall he leaned on, his eyes closed as he listened to the sound of her voice. The light British accent from the witch sounded like music to his ears, he could listen to her voice all day if he could and he didn't know why he had a sudden change of heart. When he found out about she was the one who created the potion, he was furious, wanting to kill her. But as soon as he bumped into Morgan, something within him pulled him toward her, wanting her by his side through everything, just so he could make sure she was safe. When he looked at her as she walked away, he felt as if he were losing the only thing that ever mattered to him, and he didn't want to feel that way ever again.
He wondered how old she really was, seeing the knowledge in her eyes but also something very dark, which simply reminded him of the dark time she had mentioned and she never did explain what it really meant. Klaus wanted to know everything. He wanted to bring light back into her eyes, he wanted to know who she was, he wanted to take her everywhere in the world and see her smile, show her everything the world had to offer.
And he didn't know why.
"Well, I'm fully recovered" Morgan said, standing straight "so, I should get back to the Boarding House before the kids throw another hissy fit. And I also have to try to talk Caroline out of throwing a party"
"I will see you around, then?" Elijah asked
"You will" she smiled softly
Morgan grabbed the small bag Rebekah let her borrow, which held the sketchbook Klaus let her keep and the few books she borrowed from the study, slinging the bag over her shoulder and walking out of the kitchen, making her way over to the front door.
"Walk me back?" Morgan asked, turning her head slightly, looking at Klaus from the corner of her eye
". . I'd be happy to, love" the Hybrid replied, a small smile forming on his lips
He pushed off from the wall, following Morgan as she walked out of the Mikaelson Compound. The two of them walked down the pathway that led to the large house, Morgan adjusting the bag slightly, her hand gripping the strap as her other hand was stuffed in the pocket of her coat. Klaus would glance down at her every few seconds, her gaze straight, her gaze slightly lowered, almost as if she didn't want to draw any attention to herself, which was hard to do. She was beautiful, in everyway possible. Her deep gray eyes holding so much knowledge, but also so much pain, lips he wanted to kiss as much as possible, chocolate brown hair flowing a little past her shoulders, the most beautiful woman he had seen in all his days of being alive.
Even Caroline flew from his mind, she made it perfectly clear that she wanted nothing to do with him, and now Morgan stepped into the picture.
"It's true, you know" Morgan said softly "what I said to Elijah. Somewhere, deep down inside, there is good"
"And what makes you so sure?" He asked, curiosity growing in his voice "how do you know I'm not just bad?"
". . You remind me of a poem" looking up at him, watching as he raised an eyebrow slightly
"Pardon?" He chuckled
"By Dusty Grein" giving him a small nod
Klaus couldn't help but chuckle lightly once more, shaking his head in amusement. He had been compared to many things in his life, the devil being one of them, but never in his life had he been compared to a poem of all things. A small smile formed on Morgan's lips, lowering her gaze slightly once more, feeling the eyes of a few locals, watching her, wondering who she was and knowing she was new to town. They had never seen her around.
"Morgan?" A male voice asked
The witch rose her gaze, seeing Jeremy walking toward them, a small smile forming on her lips,
"Jeremy" Morgan replied with a nod
"What are you doing with him?" He asked, stopping in front of her
"Simply walking a lady home" Klaus answered
"I didn't ask you" he replied, looking at the hybrid
"It's fine, Jeremy" Morgan assured, looking at the human "all he's doing is walking me back to the Boarding House. No tricks"
"You never know" shaking his head slightly "especially with the likes of him" shooting Klaus a look
Morgan removed her hand from her coat pocket, gently grasping his, the human letting it happen, feeling the witch give his hand a soft squeeze, a small smile forming on her lips when she felt Jeremy relax against her gentle touch.
"It's okay, Jeremy" she assured once more "nothing will happen to me. Klaus is simply walking me back to the Boarding House, nothing more"
Klaus watched the interaction, Jeremy's eyes dilating slightly, and yet, he wore a bracelet with vervain, an herb that allows one to resist the power of compulsion. Jeremy's eyes softened drastically, giving her a small nod, Morgan's smile growing slightly, giving his hand another light squeeze before releasing it,
"I'll see you around" Morgan said
"Yeah" he replied, giving her a small nod
The witch and the Hybrid walked around the human, stuffing her hand back in her pocket,
"Oh, hey, Morgan!" Jeremy called out, causing Morgan to stop and turn slightly "what do you want for your birthday?"
Morgan closed her eyes, letting her head fall back as a small groan emitted from her.
