Tuesday, at school, everyone already knew I'm dating Lisa. Most of them starting to ignored us, but some of them were still curious on what we liked about each other. Well, that's specifically, Jihyo and Jaehyun. I find their thoughts really annoying.
At lunch, Lisa and I sat on a different table for just the two of us. I know she saved a lots of questions for me again. I'm getting used to her never ending curiosity.
She was asking me about our hunt. Her heartbeat was still steady and even, as if we were discussing my favorite restaurant.
Fine, then. If she wanted to act like this was nothing unusual.
"Hmm.." she hummed as she took a bite of the pizza. She chewed it thoughtfully before she took a sip on her drink. "So," she started, looking up to me. "What's your favorite?"
Of course, she would asked that. "Bears. . .and lions." I answered, staring at her trying to find some fear on her eyes, but I keep failing. I never saw her frightened in everything I said.
"Ow." she said in a neutral tone and nodded.
I couldn't hold back a chuckle as I shook my head at her amusing calmness. "Please tell me what you're really thinking."
"I'm trying to picture it-—but I can't" She mumbled. "How do you hunt a bear without weapons?"
"Of course we have weapons.." I answered then flashed a wide smile, showing my sharp fangs. It was not actually noticable like in movies, our fangs looked more normal teeth, but sharper than the usual.
I expected her to flinched, but she was very still and very calm while watching me. "If you've ever seen a bear attack on television, you should be able to visualize how others hunting." I said.
She glanced toward the table where my siblings sat, and shivered. Finally. Her dark eyes were wide and deep as she looked back at me. "Are you like a bear, too?" she asked, almost whispering.
"More like a lion, that's what they said." I said, striving to sounds more horrific again.
Her lips formed a bit smirked. "they said." she repeated, as if she doubted my ability. Her head tilted sideways, curiosity can easily read in her eyes. "Is that something I might get to see?"
For a moment, I imagined her bloodless and lifeless body on my arms. It was clear in my head as if I were the one who had seen visions, rather than just watching Rosie's mind. But I didn't need foresight to see that horror, I already know what will be the conclusion.
"Absolutely not." I snarled at her.
She jerked away from me, shocked by my sudden rage. I leaned back to my chair, too, making a huge space between us. Why is she like this? Why she wouldn't do one thing to help me keep her alive?
"Why? Too scary for me?" She asked.
"If that's the only reason, I would take you out tonight." I said through my teeth. "You need a healthy dose of fear. Nothing could be more beneficial for you."
"But why?" she demanded.
She never understand. I'm trying to keep her safe, but all she wanted was to keep herself on risks. Now she wanted to see vampires on a hunt, it was the most stupid thing that a human would ask for.
I glared at her blackly, waiting for her to be afraid. But I was the one who got afraid, her eyes remained curious, nothing more. She waited for my answer, luckily the bell rang.
"We'll be late." I mumbled and stood up.
Nothing much really happened in school, I didn't pay attention to any of the lessons, as usual. Besides of knowing it all, my ears and mind were all focus on Lisa-—to people around her to be specific. We're not in the same classes most of the time, so I have to listen to other people's mind to be able to track her easily in case she needs my help.
