Mei POV:
𝑇𝑤𝑜 𝑦𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑠 𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟

I finish slicing another demon and walk back to the Bunny estate, A burrow-like mansion, just outside the other estates. It sits deep in a forest shrouded by wisteria trees and tall grass as far as eye can see. I stay housed there for the time being, as I train under the Bunny Hashira.

She has a bouncy personality, which compliments her unique breathing styles. Most of the Pillars have a Kouhai that they teach, soon to take their place if something happens. I chose her because of our similar backgrounds, along with similar personalities.

As of now I've been training for two years, top of the grades, alongside Himari Yui, and Kanao Tsuyuri.  I sigh as I walk in, slipping on my house shoes. Today was rough for me, to say the least. All I want to do is take a shower and nap.

"Hey, Hey, Mei! Ready to practice?" The bunny Hashira asked. She was a short girl with white hair and blue eyes, the spitting image of a bunny. Kaede Hayano, age 20.

"Ahhh, Hayano-san, can we skip today? The Demon I had to slay was huge!" I say dragging my feet to the table she was located at, sipping some type of tea.

"Haha, with that attitude you'll never beat Himari." She says, smirking behind her tea glass.

"But that's not a fair comparison!" I whined, "She's been trained by Gyomei-san, and Tokito-kun forever!" I add, slumping onto the ground, the tatami mats comforting my back.

"Even so, she never turns down training." Her eyes smiled as she looked at me, "Makes me wonder if she cares more about becoming better than you do." She adds, sipping from her tea.

"Yeah, yeah. She's just excitable. Besides she likes spending time with Tokito-kun." I roll my eyes as she wiggles her eyebrows at me.

"Incoming, Incoming. Message for Kaede!" A shrill voice echoes through the house. I turn to see Hayano's bird sitting on the window sill. My face drops as I groan. It's voice is annoying, makes me want to cook it alive.

"Hashira meeting, in the courtyard, Hashira meeting in the courtyard!" That thing sounds like a broken record...

Hayano smiles as she stands up and excuses herself. I sigh and walk towards the bathhouse, rest awaiting me.

Kaede POV:

I sigh as I walk to the designated meeting area. Most of my coworkers seem to be here. I look up in the trees to see Obanai, the Serphant Pillar, sitting amongst the branches, the rest staring to the front. Giyuu, the water pillar, also appears to be here, standing off to the side. I smile at him as he stares blankly at me. I walk over to him and see a young man with maroon hair tied up at the front, knocked out.

"Konichiwa, Giyuu-kun!" I say, smiling at him. We've known each other for quite some time so his offputting personalty doesn't really bug me.

"..." He only nods in my direction as the other Hashira continue to chat. I walk over to the Love Pillar, Mitsuri Kanroji, prepared to ask some questions I'm sure she knows the answer to.

"Konichiwa, Kanroji-Kun!." I say, waving as she smiles at me. "Do you know what's going on here?"

"Hai! That boy over there, Kamado Tanjiro, has been traveling with a demon! Giyuu-San allowed it so they're both on trial. I feel as if it's a bit much though..." She says clutching her hands to her chest. I glance over at Giyuu who appears to be staring at nothing in particular. A demon?

"Hey, come on."

"Wake up."

"Come on!"

The Kakushi shake his back repeatedly, trying to wake him.
