Azalea gazed down into her hand. In her palm laied a red crystal triangle attached to a chain. She didn't know what it was that made it special, but as far as she knew, it would get her some sort of servant as a catalyst.

Shoving the object into her pocket, Azalea started on a light jog out of the alleyway she was in and headed to her house on the outskirts of San Francisco, California. It was only a matter of time before the owner of the pendant noticed it was gone.

Azalea had heard about the pendant while at a small mage school in San Francisco. She had been doing research inorder to find any magical item for servant summoning.
That's when she saw him. A boy, about 23 years in age, tall and with dark brown hair, walked past her. It wasn't hard to pick up on his mana traces, more specifically, the mana traces that of a Tosaka, a great Mage family. Azalea herself had bumped into a few of them in her long past.

All the Tosaka participate in the Holy Grail war, so Azalea found it safe to assume that this boy was going to summon soon. So she followed him. Followed him for a few hours until he met up with another Burnett girl who also reaked of his bloodline. Probably a sister or something.

The two whispered for a bit before the girl handed him a red crystal necklace. Azalea immediately could tell it had the mana residue of a magical item.

She watched from the shadows and the two exchanged a quick hug then went their separate ways, completely unaware of the hidden Azalea.

It didn't take long for Azalea to find out where the boy, Kerrie Tosaka, lived. It took an even shorter amout of time breaking in and stealing the pendant.

Now that she had the item to link the servant to Earth, Azalea just has to make sure her servant wont die from the summoning. Her magic is different than that of normal mages and it may not be compatible with a weak servant.

After about an hour of jogging, Azalea finally reached her 2 story home. It was a couple of miles from the city itself, but there was no other homes or roads near her, allowing for more privacy.

Locking the door behind her, Azalea walked into her living room and took out her bluetooth ear buds she had in that played a repetitive ticking noise on repeat. The metronome on her piano filled the home with its natrual, deep ticking sound that the girl loved.

Sighing, Azalea plopped herself down onto her sofa and closed her eye's. If there was one thing she hated most, it was her magic. She hated using it, but it was the only way to get the pendant.

Physically and mentally exhausted, the girl allowed sleep to take her.

'Perhaps I'll summon in the morning' was her last thought before darkenss took her.

"Mom!? Dad!?" 14 year old Azalea screamed. She ignored the flames that was consuming the house and ran to her parent's burning bedroom.

Hoping over fallen wood and stone, the girl soon found herself infront of two bodies crushed underneath a fallen piece of the ceiling. Azalea fell to her knees. Burning hot tears fell down her cheeks.

"Mom? Dad?" She whispered, her throat sore from both the smoke and crying.

"They can't hear you," a feminine voice spoke from behind her. Turning around, Azalea found a man and a woman standing side by side in the middle of the flames. The girl gasped at what looked to be her parents.

"...m-m-mom?" She asked, fear scratching at her.

"No," the woman replied. "Your mother is dead. She is laying right behind you. You're the one who killed her after all."
