Chapter Three

Mari's POV

I was laying in the attic waiting for the maid. She walks in quietly. I sit up.

"Hello honey did I wake you?" The maid asked.

I shake my head no. She smiles and sits some clothes on the bed.

"My name is Darcy I will be looking after you and taking care of you when Skyler is gone." Darcy says sweetly.

I nod timidly in understanding.

"Now let's get you changed. Here you will be treated as a child." Darcy says.

I nod and walk over to her. She takes my heels off me first. She then takes

my clothes off. I'm left in my bra and panties before she takes those off as well. I stand nude in front of the maid. She puts different stuff one me.

I had on light pink ruffly panties with cute pink bows on the sides. My bra was a plain pink sports bra. My nightgown was blue with Hello Kitty on it.

I felt like a child. A very small child. Like a 3 year old. I actually liked it. I get in bed. Darcy hands me a stuffie.

My stuff is was a white bunny. The inside of the ears was grey with white poka dots same pattern on the belly.

"Ok now get to bed. Skyler will speak with you in the morning. Goodnight darling." Darcy says as she tucks me in.

"Goodnight Darcy." I whisper speaking to her for the first time.

Darcy leaves shutting and locking the door. I watch as the attic steps light turns off. I hear the other door shut and lock in the distance. I give Darcy some time to walk off.

I get out of bed and flip the light on. I look over the room. The wallpaper was pastel pink it had strawberry's on it. The bed was full sized. it had cute white sheets with little dogs in flower crowns on it. The comforter was plain baby blue same as the pillows. In a corner I saw what looked like a toy box. There's was a desk on the opposite side of the toy box. The desk was white with coloring books and coloring things on it. The chair was Amber baby blue to pastel pink. There was a plain white dresser opposite of the desk.

I go over to the white box with a pink lid. I open it to see it empty. Hm... Wonder what use to be in there. I walk over to the dresser and go through it. It was completely empty. Except a note book. I take out the notebook slowly.

I go back to the light and turn it off. Sitting back in bed. I open the notebook. On the first white page it said: This belongs to Eva James

Page 1: Mom and Dad fight all the time. I hear dad yell mean things at her. My family wasn't always like this. We were once happy. Then dad brought her home. She tore our family apart. We're very poor. Mom hasn't spoke to me since the miscarriage. I just want my family to be back to normal. The chances of that happening are slim.

I could see remain from old pages that had been tore out. I wonder why?

Page 2: I woke up in an attic today it's very pink. I don't know where I am. I think dad went through with it and sold me. I want my mom and dad.

This girl was here once. I wonder what happened to her?

Page 3: I met this girl named Skyler. She told me some rules. She's seems off. I hope she isn't going to hurt me. The rules are
1: Always listen to her
2: Don't touch myself
3: Call her mommy
4: Don't try to leave
5: Never tell her no unless it's necessary
6: Behave when she has company
7: Go to bed at bed time
8: Don't curse
9: Listen to everyone else
10: No tantrums or arguing
11: Use manners
12: Never lie
If I fail to comply with those rules she will punish me.

Page 4: I learned the punishments today. There not to bad. No not because I was punished. Skyler told me. They are Spankings, Early bed time, no play time, write sentences, and time out.

I decided to stop reading and go to bed. I slip the diary in between my mattress and box springs.

I hope that girl Eva is ok. Why isn't she still here? Maybe she is still here?

I lay down and close my eyes. Struggling my bunny. I slowly drift into my dream land.

I feel myself being shook to wake me up.

"Wake up." I hear Skyler's voice say.

I slowly open my eyes. The light was on and Skyler stood beside my bed looking at me.

"Let's go over the rules." Skyler says.

Skyler proceeds to tell me the exact same rules from Eva's notebook. Plus a new one it was always listen to Darcy and do your chores.

"What if I don't listen?" I ask seeing if she'll say what was written in Eva's notebook.

"If you fail to comply with these rules I will punish you." Skyler says.

It sounded almost like the notebook just a few words different.

"Do you understand?" Skyler asked.

"Yes." I say.

"Yes who?" Skyler asked I knew exactly what to call her.

"Yes Mommy." I say quietly.

"Good girl. I'm gonna be going now. Darcy will be here to get you ready for the day soon." Skyler says. Then quickly leaves the room.

I decided to read more tonight. Soon Darcy walked in the room.

"Good morning darling it's time to get up and get ready for the day." Darcy says.

I get out of bed slowly yawning as I stand up stretching.

"First is bath time. Then you get dressed and eat. Last you will be assigned a chore for the day." Darcy explains my day.

I nod. She grabs my hand and leads me out of the attic.
