"C'mon El! It's time to go!"

I finished touching up my makeup and replied "Coming!" Maddie and Octavia have been trying to get me to get out of the house for a while now. I've been in a funk lately. I'm not sure why. I guess it's just the loneliness of living by myself. I just recently moved into my own apartment. It's not as nice as I thought it would be to live alone. "Hello?! Earth to Eleanor!" Maddie says while waving her hand in front of my face. I snap out of my transe of thinking about shit that's ruining my mood. I put on a fake smile and follow Octavia and Madelaine out the door to my red Mustang. "Let's go bitches! It's time to party!" Octavia shouts. Maddie and I look at each other and laugh at her together as she sticks her head out the window shouting energetically. Octavia has always been the energetic one out of the three of us. Maddie's the one who people go to when they need help or advice. She's very selfless and that's what I love about her. O, Maddie, and I have known each other since middle school. We've gone to the same middle school, same high school, gone to the same college and graduated together. We've just always been a group of sisters who've always got each other's back.

I park my car down the street from the club. We walk down the sidewalk close to each other, holding hands. We approach the club with a brightly lit sign reading "Strawberry Rockstar". We reach the front of the line and show our ID's. As soon as we enter, the entire room is booming with music and people dancing to the beat. "Let's go get a drink. Maybe if we're lucky enough, a guy will buy it for us." Octavia said to both Maddie and me, rolling her eyes. "I'll have a sailor with 7-up" I tell the bartender politely. I look around at the crowd of people dancing to the loud music and girls grinding on guys as they hold their hips and get dangerously close to each other. I look over at O and Maddie and they're sipping their drinks while scoping out for guys to dance with or hit on. I've never really been a party kind of person. "You guys seem pretty occupied. Just stay here and I'm gonna go to the bathroom." They both nod ok as they hold the straws to their drinks up against their lips, sipping the alcohol they had gotten earlier while bouncing and swaying to the beat. I scoffed and grabbed my drink and headed to the bathroom, taking a sip of my drink on my way there. I knew from the moment we left my apartment that I'd be in this exact mood. This "I don't wanna be here in a crowd of strangers breathing down each other's necks, intoxicated. Half of them probably don't even know what they're doing or who they're dancing with." mood. This is why I hate going out partying or clubbing, whatever the fuck you wanna call it.

I get back to where I came from; where my two now intoxicated best friends stand talking to decent-looking guys while twirling their hair. I stand for a couple minutes, staring at the crowd and think to myself "You know what? Fuck it."

"Can I get another sailor with 7-up?"
