Considering you wrote Hamantha and not The Ballad of Hamantha, I'm assuming you meant the short one haha

Hello there, my dear trash gremlins!

So, where to start with Hamantha? Well, I'm going to start with the very beginning of the song.

Here's the lyrics:

(Who's the new girl?)
(That's Hamantha.)

Flowing hair, she was a cutie pie
Meaty face and a lovely eye
At her time of death
The doc said "time to eat!"
So he took a bite out of her face meat

Hamantha
Hamantha
You were impossible to ignore
Hamantha
Hamantha
So greedy we wanted more

Due to a long, hard analysis of both the lyrics and the visuals, my conclusion is that Hamantha wasn't actually a ham, she was someone who was deformed and lived a fairly sad life, being bullied and not seen for her true personality.

Alright, lemme break it down for you. *rave music begins*

So, the video begins with two students at what seemed to be a school hall. One of them asks who the new girl is, and the other responds by saying that her name's Hamantha. This means she's either introduced herself, or her appearance was so different to 'normal people' look (seriously tho, stop judging people for their looks or I'll set your eyeballs on fire) and the news of her coming to the school spread fast, meaning everyone had already heard of her. For this theory, I assumed the latter.

Then, the song begins. The lyrics of "flowing hair, she was a cutie pie, meaty face and a lovely eye" make me believe that he's talking about how she was quite beautiful; possibly meaning that she had a nice personality, and that made some people, like her father (mentioned in the full song) find her beautiful (because she is, #hamantha4president2020).

Now, it's time for what I find to be the most important lyric. "At her time of death The doc said "time to eat!" So he took a bite out of her face meat". I believe the doctor represents society (and that's where Joker (2019) comes in-): classmates, peers, disapproving relatives, and her 'time of death' being the time where she was at her worst. When she was feeling awful, the people around her 'ate her': taking more and more pieces put of her until she was reduced to nothing.

"Hamantha, Hamantha, you were impossible to ignore. Hamantha, Hamantha, so greedy we wanted more" is signifying that her face meant she drew a lot of attention, meaning more and more people ate her away. That's why she was portrayed as a ham: to soften the message.

But, hey, that's just my opinion!

See ya later, trash gremlins!
