"Well I want you to make an alliance with Jiang Han. Make sure to protect him as he has been missing for quite awhile now. Am I right Mr Crimson Slayer."

Everyone in the room who didn't know his identity gasped. I chuckle and nudge at his rib as I wiggle a brow before winking.

He turns to me, surprise filtering through his face. A charming smile formed on his extremely handsome face.

"Thank you.."

"No problem, you reunited me with my son. I could not be more grateful."

The emperor stroked his silver beard in contemplation before nodding.

"Make it a deal. It will also benefit us in the future since my son is about the same age as him."

I smile and bow.

"Thank you. I am indebted to you your majesty."

He laughed heartily waving his hand.

"No need to thank me. We are mutual. Feel free to stay at the palace as long as you want. I'll arrange a room for you both."

I nod, looking down at the squirming child in my arms. His eyes looked like an endless ocean of stars. The glistened gorgeously in the sunlight, like precious jewels.

I hugged the child resting in my arms. Snuggled into my chest, hanging on as if his life depended on it.

Little Bun Bai(nickname) snuggled in,

"You're the only person I know that gives indefinite hugs." He breathed in the familiar scent he missed so much. It smelt of cherry blossoms.

I chuckled staring down at him lovingly.

"Well, love, where else would I rather be?" In that moment the arms squeezed a fraction tighter and Bai breathed more slowly, his body melting into his mom's as every muscle lost its tension to the spring air.

This was life, real life.

A sweet and innocent reunion.

I chuckled at the sight of my adorable son. Lifting his hair on his forehead before planting a gentle and loving kiss. My heart melted at his smile. I was squealing internally.

My son is to cute!

The way his lips lifted upward. The way his one dimple crinkles. The way his teeth are perfectly aligned. The warm glow his happiness gives. His smile is a ray of sunshine, and I am a sunburn. I lift his up and spin his around, planting kisses all over his face. I wanted to shower him in my affection.

All my love for my little ball of sunshine.

Fits of giggles escaped his lips cutely.

"Mama stop!"

He cried out.

The little bun looks like he's being jangled by invisible strings from above, only his puppeteer is drunk. The only thing I can make out beneath his moving hair is a smile that could light up any day, no matter how dark.

I couldn't help but tear at the familiar love. His smile made me happy to be alive even after everything. Now I understand what it's like to be a mom.
