Slytherin is quite boring, I think to myself.
I roam the halls after a long day of potions, textbooks, and a little bit of dosing off in class. Hogwarts is supposed to be the best wizarding school there is, but I'm not impressed. It's probably different when you have friends. Which unfortunately, I haven't made a single one.
I am new to Hogwarts this year. I had been attending a school that isn't too far from here, but it didn't work out well. Hogwarts seems to be a much better fit. I am actually a better fit for Hogwarts, specifically Slytherin. I knew I'd get Slytherin, there was no doubt about it. Nobody questions it either. But I still can't figure out why I haven't made any friends yet. I suppose I'm not making much of an effort.
I've been walking through every corridor and every inch of the grounds for an hour now. Nothing exciting. A lot of empty closets, which I had hoped were full of potions, but nothing interesting.
I decide to go back to the Slytherin common room. As a new member of the Hogwarts community, I should get to know the people. I'm a fifth year, so most everyone has already made friends. It'd be terribly embarrassing to have attended Hogwarts for five years and not have any friends.
I open the wide doors to reveal the common room. It is beautiful. Large wooden bookshelves, tables, games. It is sophisticated, yet fun. It would be the perfect opportunity to make friends. If anybody was there. It is empty, full of potential to have a good time. Exploring some more is fine, too.
I trace the tables and open some drawers, letting curiosity take over me, as it often does. There's some books and keys, as expected.
I move over to the grand rows of book shelves, which hold enough knowledge to fill one thousand brains. There's books, and more books, and...a stick? I notice something strange, and soon recognize it as a wand. Who would be so stupid as to leave their wand here? I examine it carefully. It has to belong to someone special. It is a 10" long wand made of hawthorn wood, and seems to have a unicorn hair core. 10 inches...wow. I have to shake my head to rid dirty thoughts.
The door slams open. I quickly make an effort to hide behind the bookshelf. I squint your eyes and barely make out two figures. One seems to be tall, the other short and particularly chubby.
"Goyle! Where'd you put my wand!" A voice scolds.
"I told you, I didn't put it anywhere!" The other says.
They both search the room frantically until one of them sees me. They march over and stand right in front of me. I'd never admit it, but the blonde haired boy is extremely intimidating.
"You! You have my wand!" The blonde boy says.
However, he doesn't look like just a boy. He is tall, has striking features, and has to be muscular under those robes. He is the most attractive person I've ever laid my eyes on.
I know exactly who he is, but choose to humble him. "Oh, c'mon. I don't even know your name," I say, fiddling with the wand.
"I highly doubt that. I'mnDraco Malfoy," He says. "Now give me my wand."
I look at the wand and laugh.
I put on a more serious expression and look at Draco, deep into his eyes. They are a beautiful silver.
"No," I reply, and start to walk away. He follows you.
I break into a run in the halls, taking lefts and rights until I am are positive that I've lost him, and that I'm a little lost myself.
I tuck the wand into your back pocket. Nothing even slightly that exhilarating has happened since I've gotten to Hogwarts. It's actually...kind of fun. I think of it as an intense game of hide-and-seek.
