Phoebe smiled as her car pulled into Kings Cross station, and she ran to platform nine and three quarters as fast as she could while weighed down with her trunk. It had been a long summer, she hadn't been able to see her friends for months, and she couldn't wait to return to her true home, Hogwarts.

"Jade!" Phoebe exclaimed as the tight-lipped slytherin came into view. At the sight of Phoebe, Jade's signature scowl flickered into a momentary smile, as the younger girl jumped into her arms. Nobody was allowed to hug Jade, but Phoebe knew she was the one exception. She would never admit it, but Jade certainly had a soft spot for her hufflepuff friend.

"I missed you," Phoebe admitted with a smile, pulling away from the hug.

"I almost missed your annoying ass too, Phoebes, it's quiet without you around."

"I love you too, Jade." Jade rolled her eyes, but Phoebe could see a hint of a smile on her face. "Now come on, let's get to the train!" Phoebe called, grabbing Jade's hand and dragging her into their designated compartment. The door swung open to reveal a dark skinned girl with her nose in a book. She looked up when she heard the creak of the door, a smile growing on her face as soon as she saw the two girls.

"Phoebe! Jade!" the girl exclaimed, deftly marking her place in the book and putting it down next to her. "I missed you two!"

"I missed you too Riley," Phoebe said with a smile, sliding into the seat next to the girl and giving her an awkward hug. Jade rolled her eyes and sat down across from us.  "How was your summer, did you get to see your cousins again?" Pheobe asked, knowing that Riley had been looking forward to seeing her family.

"You didn't ask me about my summer, Phoebes," Jade exclaimed, clutching a hand to her heart over-dramatically, before bursting out laughing when she saw Phoebe's horrified face. "Jeez, I was just kidding Phoebe," she said in between laughs, struggling to catch her breath. Phoebe sighed and turned back to Riley. She had been away from Jade for too long, she could barely pick up on her sarcasm anymore.

"Well, as I was about to say before Jade oh-so-kindly interrupted," Riley began, holding back a little laugher herself, "I did get to see my cousins, and it was really nice. I got to learn all about the new muggle smartphones!"

"Dork," Jade said with a snort. This time, Phoebe picked up on their sarcasm, and they all laughed good-naturedly. They continued to chatter, catching each other up on their summers, until they were interrupted by the door swinging open once more.

"Sup, losers!" the familiar voice of their friend Stella called, marching into the compartment and taking a seat next to Jade.

"Stella!" Phoebe yelled, rushing over to hug her.

"I missed you too, kid," Stella said with a laugh.

"Kid? You're like a month older than me!"

"Exactly, respect your elders, kid." All of the girls laughed, Phoebe returning to her seat. They were just beginning to talk once again, when the door swung open with a now familiar creak.

"Room for a few more?" asked the impertinent voice of the one and only Sirius Black. He wiggled his eyebrows, stepping inside the compartment to reveal his friends behind him. James was wearing an equally mischievous glare, Remus was leaning against the wall, and Peter just looked uncomfortable.

"Piss off, Black," Stella hissed, moving to stand up. Jade grabbed her wrist, pulling her back into her seat.

"They're not worth your time, Stell," she whispered, glaring at the boys. Stella reluctantly shuffled over, making room for the boys. Sirius and James sat down next to her, and Phoebe nudged Riley along so that Remus and Peter could sit down next to them. Riley merely rolled her eyes, and picked her book back up.

"Studying already, Riley?" James asked, "I thought ravenclaws were supposed to be smart without studying." Stella once again moved to stand up, but Jade gave her a meaningful look. If you aggravated the self proclaimed 'marauders,' then they would not hesitate to ruin your Hogwarts experience. The marauders were the 'mean girls,' of the school, everyone followed their lead without question.

"Damnit Jade, I'm sick of this, we have to stand up for ourselves!" Stella hissed.

"Come on, Stell," Riley insisted, putting her book back down and leaning over so that the marauders, who were already consumed in their own conversation, couldn't hear them. "You know they can turn the whole school against us."

"So what? We have each other, right?"

"Of course, but they'll prank us into oblivion! You saw what happened to the sytherins last year!" Riley insisted, struggling to keep her voice low.

"So, we prank them back," Jade said with a mischievous smirk. The girls all looked at her, shocked by her sudden change of mind. "What? It'd be fun! I don't wanna take their shit anymore, so if you guys are fine with the school probably hating us, I'm down." A smile began to flicker on Phoebe's face.

"Who says the marauders have to rule the school!" Phoebe announced, a little too loudly. The marauders seemed to stop their conversation, looking over at us.

"Hell yeah!" Stella cheered, getting to her feet.

"Hey, some rivalry could do the school some good," Jade said, smirking, "what're we called?"

"I don't-" Phoebe began, but Riley cut her off.

"We're the mutineers." she announced, "It means people that don't play by the rules." The newly named mutineers smiled at each other triumphantly.

"Well then, mutineers," Sirius countered, making the girls jump. They hadn't noticed that the marauders were listening. "You're on."

"Let's go, boys," James announced, getting to his feet and leading the others out of the compartment. The door slammed shut behind them.

"Did we just-"

"Yes, yes we did."
