My smile was wide.
I sat down at the table as dad was trying to fly a kite.
He handed Gage the string as he turned around and smiled at us proudly.
"Look Rachel! I got Gage to fly a kite!" Dad told my mom and she laughed
"I want my turn Daddy!" Ellie yelled being selfish - as usual.
Gage had Just gotten his turn and she was already trying to push him away
"Soon Ellie, let Gage finish his turn first" Dad explained in the nicest way he could think of without just telling her to shut her mouth. Ellie's smile turned into a scowl as she pouted.
Gage dropped the string
"Uh-oh" He laughed
"He dropped it! That dumb shit!" Ellie screamed.
We all laughed at her sudden outburst
"Louis look out for that road!" Jud screamed standing up and pointing at Gage walking toward the road.
I knew Jud would've ran for him but he was too old to keep up.
I jumped up with a gasp and ran as quick as I could towards the road to get Gage. I ran past dad because I was quicker.
Gage stood in the road and a semi truck speed quickly down the road, clearly distracted.
I ran and pushed Gage out of the way but it wan't enough for me.
